    E36 M3 Cab

Awesome M3 Ray, now that's a sweet deal!
  2. Most drivers in NZ are also incapable of 'merging like the teeth on a zip' on onramps and at the end of motorways... so much for being considerate! - most noticeable during snail-pace traffic jams, when you see the smug looks of drivers now in front, leading the rebellion (like their life depended on it).
  3. Welcome! Great to see another fellow Dunedin member! Sweet ride man, love those wheels. Wasn't it a fantastic day today, glad to see you made the most of it pic-wise! Was definitely a perfect opportunity to have the top down this avo for a winter's drive.

    SEADOO HX

To the general populace - yes. But in fact known as a PWC, or Personal Water Craft (as Kawasaki owns the Trademark 'Jetski' to refer to their stand-up and sit-down PWC). Bombardier in turn own the TMs for 'Seadoo' and 'Skidoo', utilising their Rotax engine technology for smaller modes of transport other than private jets. The HX was a hefty beast when it was released in 1995, complete with shock absorber under the seat!
  5. You'd certainly be able to see on the other side of the track from the Grandstand!
  6. Not dissin' yo Hood, man! No need to hassle the car night life in Dunners, those 15 year olds try REALLY hard to emulate your scene up north... driving down George St, around the block and down George St again, all the while there's usually a bored 12yo girl sitting in the back seat Just saying that I've never seen so many brand-new, fluoro paintjobs on really old cars than around Palmy's communist parade ground - I mean Square (am referring to that wide boulevard with flag standards, goose step anyone?).
  7. Comments on the Chickie E30 on TM... from the Hood in Opotiki The link is fixed now people I can see it doing the cruise around the Square in Palmy!

    Boobs on bikes

Bring on the titties I say! I wonder how many school kids wagged school to see that At last year's one in CHCH a certain high school suspended a group of boys for ending up in a front page photo of the Press, watching the parade in their uniforms. Apparently they had brought the school into disrepute How stupid can you get!!! At least wear mufti when you escape to such a public event!
  9. Welcome Matt, Nice E30 and bodykit! Worked/lived in Napier for half a year prior to heading down to Dunners to study. Patrick
  10. Who's doing the work for you and what product/system are they using? Sounds primo, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the difference!
  11. Sweet 80s styling, an interesting (out of the ordinary) bodykit which still suits the chrome trim. Anyone going to check it out at Turners?
  12. Welcome! Nice ride. May see you around town when I drive back home from Dunners for the summer.
  13. Very nice car! Great colour too.
  14. Welcome! Mint M325i, very nice. I spent my childhood in Oman, over 5 years there while my dad was contracted to a civil engineering firm in the early 80s. Patrick
  15. Welcome! Send us some pics please, so that we can admire the ride. M3-style mirrors & clear (or smoked) indicators/repeaters would be a great way to go. Forget about Altezza-style tail lights.
  16. +1. Pros and Cons - price of used cars came down with imports, but at the severe cost of our assembly plants around the country... the floodgates opened and the crap (wound back, worn-out engines/flooded junk) started creeping in with the good stuff! We should have had stricter regulations to stop these abused cars from getting on shore in the first place! Ahh I remember the Mitsubishi plant in Porirua in its heyday... pity about the NZ new prices at the time (not that I could afford it, I was a kid). Has anyone flicked through those old 1980s coffee table books about NZ cities? It's amazing to see those pics of Wellington's The Terrace and Lambton Quay (for example) parked full of boxy 1980s cars. You'd be surprised to see just one mint oldschool Jap box on the streets today, amongst all that pimped-out, fibreglass crap! Call it nostalgia... You just have to appreciate the little grannies who still keep their old early 80s Civic or Nissan in mint condition - i.e. garaged more than driven. My rant of the day...
  17. She'll probably keep doing that in every country she visits now that she's "world famous in New Zealand!" Talk about media coverage. She'll give other female Israeli tourists a reputation to uphold... tsk tsk Who needs 'Naked News,' I say, when you just have to wolf whistle at chicks around ATMs!
  18. University of Otago MA student - in Anthropology (specifically Archaeology), so no company car... My first degree was in Architecture and after Otago I intend gain some experience working as an archaeologist, or heritage advisor (NZ Historic Places Trust or contract firm perhaps). Have worked for architects, NZHPT and DOC in the past. In the long run I'll return to architecture, to specialise in the field of conservation architecture (restoring old buildings and tastefully adding to them).

    Personalised Plates

HAHA!!! Was just thinking of that exact plate too! Heard about that plate years ago, in the early days when the Plates people wouldn't let such blatant 'offensive' stuff get through.... great way to get around it.They seem to be getting desperate for money nowadays, by selling such plates as PUNANI and PUNANE that I've previously seen around the country.

    MY 320i E30

    What a transformation! Fantastic job!
  21. +1, a stunning car. What would the parts situation be like? Only sources would be through BMW and Ebay, I suppose.
  22. What kind of munted individual would go to that amount of effort to cause such a danger to traffic! Probably the same kind of sicko that goes out of their way to place sherds of glass on the try line of a school rugby field... (as has happened in NZ a number of years ago).Good luck with the tyre hunt.
  23. Welcome! Car sounds great, post us some pics when you have time. Patrick
