Hehe, you got me . Not a big fan of the color or the wheels and pretty unsure about the SMG but hey, I vowed that even if I found a pink M3 for a good deal I would get it lol. Aparently you can stick them in "E" mode where it's just like an auto so should be even better than manual around town..?

I have a 93 E36 325I and it has both ABS and driver side airbag, it has been a wonderful car for me so far however I will not recommend this model due to the large engine (petrol cost). Obviously I am biased towards an E36 so I will recommend either a 318i / 318is or a 323i (which I hear is fairly economical). The 318 models are fairly gutless (so probably extra bonus points in your eyes ). You should definitely be able to find a good clean automatic E36 in your price range, manual is a lot harder to find and is generally quite a bit more expensive as they are always in hot demand. Hi All, Just thought I would pick everyones brain on what you think about the early model SMG transmissions? I read an old topgear review and from what they seem to say its a pretty wicked setup and basically just a "smart" manual transmission. Sure there is no clutch but human error is taken out of the equation and unlike auto/tiptronic you can even rev the car without engaging the 1st gear (if you want to launch). How reliable are they? For those that have driven it, does it "feel" good and is it quite responsive? Would you rather have SMG or MT? Finally, do you think that having SMG increases, decreases or is irrelevant to the sale value of the car? (in NZ obviously). Cheers

I also bought a pair of these from the same guy a while back, I definitely recommend them and have had no issues at all (been about 6 months or so). Installation was fairly simple, there are numerous tutorials on the web so I did the fitting myself and got the wiring done professionally (although thats probably not that hard either). http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2366...mp;id=565870758 We even managed to get them cheaper because I ordered 3 sets off him. I am actually keen to order a second pair (planning to upgrade soon) so if we can get a few of us that are interested I will flick him an e-mail and see if he has any left.

Yep, I too (as most people here) have been watching the M3 market for a long time now. Sorry to say it but your price seems very high, the red M3 here in Chch is an example of this... It's NZ new, with a fair bit lower Km's yet still no one seems to be forking out $24k. Best of luck with the sale however I think you will only find the buyers around the $20k mark. Thats my opinion anyhow.

Nice analysis boys . I also was a bit confused when I saw the interior, personally I think Vader seats are some of the sexiest seats I have ever seen so no idea why someone would chose normal sports seats over them.

I have had numerous comments on how "vicious" my car sounds or people thinking I have a waste gate so I felt I might as well share it with you guys. I was wondering if anyone else has a similar sounding exhaust to mine? I have the m5 style msport mags on my E36 and love how they look, wheels you have in mind are a similar so I guess you can't go wrong !

That is very true, but you know what I mean right. I don't want to just throw money away, if you look hard enough and long enough you don't always have to lose too much come "upgrade" time .

Hey Guys, I need some advice. I have come across a manual, leather, 93, E36 AC Schnitzer 325I coupe with 120k on the clock. Test drove it the other day and it was pretty mint, just had a service at BMW. The thing is I really like my current car, I would love to upgrade to a manual but only if I get a really good deal. So, my question is... What do you think this AC would be worth as I am tossing up weather its a sound "investment" for me to sell my car and get the AC.

Seems like we are on exactly the same wavelength, but I guess so is everyone else on these forums . Mine is auto also, trying to sell now (for the right price of course, in no rush at all). If that goes ahead then will get a manual hopefully. And sometime in near future M3 !!

Hi All, Finally managed to take some half decent photos of my E36 325I. Had her for a few months now, easily best car I have owned to date. I am expecting some flame for the altezza tails but in my defense it's how it came and I can't be bothered changing them just yet. I wish I had the imagination of jammaster j and could come up with some kick ass article to accompany the photos (great read man, loved it lol) but I am not that pro. Anyhow, meet the crazyarab! p.s.
