Basically all of what's been covered. Unfortunately I have done all of those and the shimmy persists. So if I was to keep the car...I would do steering tie rods and then as a last resort shock/shock mount (because then basically that's the whole front suspension replaced!!) So if all else fails on what you've listed, perhaps try those. Good Luck!!

Yeah, I had a similar problem with identifying my auto gearbox for the correct type of fluid. Bentley = wrong Glenn = correct

Haha nah...Waiouru is a bit of a shithole...blink and you miss it (no offense). Am thinking about a car in Napier, and my mate graduates from the army basic training middle of May and was thinking if all goes well to try and time it around the same time.

Gearbox and bits and bobs are now sold to a guy in Wellington. Thanks for your interest. Hi guys, For sale is a 5speed getrag 262/265 and basically all the other bits and pieces for a full conversion aside from driveshaft. Came from a 1982 e28 528i - an M30. The reason I say 262 is because that's what's stamped on the side of the box. After a bit of a search on the net, it says that some 265's were stamped with the same number. It also mentions that the 262's came in either 4spd or 5spd close ratio...which I believe this box is neither. After $1000 for the lot. Numbers on box read: 262.0510.90 And 225 and directly underneath is 1.3 Included: Gearbox Flywheel Clutch and pressure plate (clutch a bit worn) Lever and shifter mechanism Master and slave cylinder (slave is a bit stuffed) Reservoir and hose from this to master cylinder Metal clutch fluid piping Hose from metal piping to slave cylinder Pedal assembly Gearbox cross-member New looking guibo joint Release bearing which is stuffed (not pictured) Release arm (not pictured) Looks as though the bushes on the x-member are relatively new. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=220761031
