The e23 is my mates, he bought it on the Friday just gone. Has a few probs here and there, interior is faded, a few rust spots in a few places but overall is mechanically in good shape. His father is a panel beater, so that'll keep him busy haha. Goes REAL well for such a big car. I think BMW Weapon AKA Topcat has a few e23's in his garage, one of which is a 735i, not sure if it's manual or not.

Personally i'd go for the 535. The fuel consumption shouldn't be too much worse, and it performs a hell of a lot better than the 2.5l

Welcome. I believe the 850i is a 5.6L v12? Regarding the Nikasil problem, to my knowledge that isn't so much of a problem here in NZ. It was a big problem in the US market with the high sulphur content in their fuel. Send bradc a pm on these forums, he has one which you might be able to have a look at. *Glenn*, a forum member and sponsor (owner of botanymotorworx) recently had one in his shop where they were doing some work on it. It might pay to have a chat to him too...i'm unsure if the 850Csi is still there or not. Cheers, Ian.

That's right. If I recall in one of the manuals it advises that the amount of gas the car uses while idling cold for 3min is the equivalent of the car travelling 1km when cold...something along those lines anyway.
