My 540i does about 18mpg combined highway/city. I have had it as good as about 24mpg on trips. Just incase you wanted to compare or something. Mine is also auto. I havn't had any problems except for having to replace my MAF sensor. Ian.

Holy crap, getrag 242, my mate is after on for his e21 318i m10. Just to confirm, would it fit? He bought a gearbox off an asian couple in Mt Wellington who were claiming it to be a 4speed e21 gearbox, after a bit more research etc, it turned out to be a getrag 240. Regards, Ian.
