what is the difference between a 318i and a 318is??engine wise

it would be nice to drop a huge, over powered beema engine into your car, but youve gotta think if you would be getting the amount of bang for your buck, im guessing out of 10k thats your sr20det, with diff and gearbox and engine mounts done aswell as tuning, and youd still have enough for more than a few dozen. i know what id choose. gotta love that BMW sound thou dont ya?

If i was you id build the 535 upto m5 spec, because having a dormant m5 sitting aroung for years should be a crime. Ill keep an eye out for a revoltingly fast 535 aswell. those poor skyline boys, haha.

ive got a mate who will pay 5g for it. beemers are cheap in Rotovegas. he loves beemers and either wants an e30 like mine in a wagon or is going to buy his dads 540i 5 series.

yer beamers generally arent fast cars ah, thats why i dont see the point in modifying the engine of any beemer that isint like a BMW supercar eg m3 m5 z4 e9 etc. 316 suits me fine because of this.

a guy at my school has a mint, restored example of the car in the picture above, an e21 isint it? deep dish 16's and all, bright orange unfortunately.

how common are e36 (is it?) 318is'? because my mum drives one and it handles like a dream, auto unfortunately.
