  1. really you should try and get it as even as possible, the back only looks lower cos the guards come down further, if you want the guards the same height then i guess it would be about right. i have 60mm lower springs in the front and they are captive, so they pass wof, you can go lower than 40mm if you want, i know a guy that can get 90mm lower, that would put it about the same height as tims car. his has been certed cos its only 80mm off the ground though

  2. I'll have to talk to him and see whether he wants to part it out or sell complete. Tim wants some of the intake stuff and ryan wants distributor and rotor. We also have to see whether its running or not. I suppose it would be around $300 if the sump is easily fixed and it runs fine considering it doesn't have the loom, i don't really know, he has the exhaust system and airbox and driveshaft as well, just wrong ECU.

  3. Thats what he said happened, too much gas in the wet, he said it was in the real torquey part of the rev range and the back just stepped out, he over-corrected and spun it almost 360 so he was heading backwards towards the sea/pipes. And he didn't get a scratch on him. He'd probably be a vegetable now if it was a jappa

  4. Andy- you do that it isn't the Motronic ECU, it is a L-Jet ECU with a few little mods so it will run the 2.5 engine. The think the sump must have hit the ground when he flipped off the road, if you look in the pics he spun it almost 360 and was sliding backwards towards the pipes, the sump might have caught the edge of the road. Its probably repairable.

The rotors are OEM replacement, practically new. Carl's keen on them but I'll my mate what i can for them.

downlow, i'll let you know about the rack.

  5. Its far too confusing for a person of my intellect. I know mass is related to energy and time (e = mc2), where all this comes in with time and velocity who knows? I think its weird that something the size of a pea can be transformed into enough energy to power my car for a long time.

    other hobbies are

    dirtbikes

and other teenage male stuff - drinking, chicks, etc

  6. Time can be altered, or sort of, what i mean to say is time is not constant We did this in physics. Apparently they (NASA i suppose) go 2 stopwatches and started them at the same time. one stayed on earth the other was put in a orbiter thingy, when the orbiter landed the clocks were out of sinc.

I know its hard to get you head round but time is related to velocity.

The thing i often wonder is... why?

  7. Dunno diff ratio, its probably what came in a 320i.

Shocks are KYB, again they are real new. No more than 2 months old.

I might take the seats, haven't decided yet.

Oh and it also manual steering rack, again it looks fine but haven't had real good look.

  8. I'm talking about giving a pre FL a facelift, how much work is it to fit the plastics bumpers and valances etc. or is the chassis way too different. I'm thinking if you can do that then you have lots more options for kits, as andy said. Or is that just not possible?

  9. I think I'll take the seats, haven't decided yet tho, besides ryan, they for a 2 door. I'll see what he wants for the wheels. You've got 2 already havent you? There should be at least 2 straight wheels out of those four. And theres 4 brand new tyres.

He's only got 3rd party, so i'm helping him out by selling what i can for him. what makes it worse is hes just put in lots of money fixing it up- brakes, springs, shocks, clutch parts, tyres.

  10. Why has a Motronic engine got crappy L-jet accessories fitted to it

I was wondering who would notice that. He didn't do the conversion properly. It should be using the motronic computer but he hookd it up to the L-jet computer. It didn't affect the power, it just ran a bit rich. I know its real dodgy but it ran so he was happy.

  11. Selling on behalf

Yeh its the same one in the pics, body is rooted but mostly mechanical stuff seems ok. Anyway the stuff you people might want...

M20B25 - Everything looks ok apart from small hole in sump

Manual tranny - everything looks good

    Manual steering rack

    Black vinyl door cards

Leather seats - small rip in drivers one

Brembo front rotors - 1 months use

    20mm lowering springs for front

Diff - dunno about ratio but is from a manual 320i

    4 near new tyres - firestone guardians 195 65 R14 1 months use

3 bottle caps - look fine but could be buckled

Heaps of over stuff, post here or PM if your interested

EDIT- Its actually a 87' 320i that was imported from england and has been repowered with a M20B25. And the pics are in the 'Oh dear' thread in general

    discussion

EDIT- Just thought I should make this clear, I'm selling this stuff for my mate. There is nothing in it for me, just doing a favour for a mate, and trying to get you guys some stuff you need/want. I'll have to check with him before everythings final though. Also the car probably wont be dismanteled till the weekend so I have only had a quick look at some of the parts. The parts listed above all seem fine but can't tell for sure until they out of the car. And parts go to highest offer, they ain't yours till he gets the cash. Sorry if thats a bit harsh but he's pretty short of money right now.
