Its ten years old and has 140,000km, that would be below average milage one would think. Would love one. There was one at Team Mcmillan in that hue and I said to myself who the hell would buy a BMW M5 in that coulor thinking it was special order or something.. obviously not.

What's good under the hood in a 520i??
-
It should not need to come out? Apparently.
-
Just get a 535i in Manual and be done with it. win win.

Nice car good luck with the sale. Cant believe you dont drive this AT ALL, they are so much fun.

So a big set of pliers is best then?? Is it not that tight that pliers will do?? Its a next saturday job now. Have seen a plumbers crescent recommended but the whole shaft would have to come out for that! Cheers.

Guessing im supposed to use vice grips on the adjustment collar or some mega crescent. I have neither that will fit the bloody thing.. every time I try and save a few bob fixing cars I end up spending money on tools I will only use once. Bugger.

Just been to the beach and its not the nicest day... ran out of tools, talent and patience to fix the BMW so I think i'll push it back into the corner for a few more months.

Lucky you. Some info. Clearly states the prop needs shortening, it's only a matter of 5mm. https://80-75-156-107.colo.gravityinternet....0_Differentials

Yea needs adjusting unfortunately, no big deal. Thanks for the advice.

Need advice on how to adjust the length of the propshaft to suite the longer Med case diff. Finally built up the motivation to fix the E30, its been a while since I have driven it and I am having withdrawals. I decided I would swap the Small case diff out for a Medium case diff seeing my car has a 2.5 and a bit more torque im thinking it would be a valuable upgrade for longevity. I have the car up high on axel stands and have the old diff out and have dropped the exhaust and heat shields so its only this seemingly/suggested easy job holding up proceedings, its all straight forward apart from this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, If you can give me a hand even better! I have no money hence why im doing it myself, could flick you a BMW polo. Cheers Graham

Dent Magician bro. Bad luck mate, is the B pillar ok? Spotted you in Papakura the other night, your car is looking and sounding good man, tried chasing you but I couldn't run fast enough.

I find actually rocking up with folding cash does do wonders, have saved thousands flashing a gezzer roll in front of a dealer. Cash has charm.

Welcome to Bimmersport. I think E34's are awesome, have grown to want one over the years of owning a E30.

Or you got it for what it is worth Best luck I have had was a bidding war on a car I was selling, I had three people after the car and I played them off beautifully, ended up getting $1,500 more than asking price! Create some hype!
-
I find if you ask what a car is worth it helps, also helps if the car is ‘rare and sort after’. Only car I have had trouble selling was a Mitsubishi FTO.

Welcome to Bimmersport Frank There are a lot of E39's here, due to the high cost of maintenance/parts etc a lot of the earlier ones are starting to die off. Pictures or the car doesn’t exist... Joking, we do want pictures though!! -
Would be happy to tell my friends that they are the same tyres used on the Astra. There are actually some good and very fast Holden/HSV Astra’s but they run Dunlop SP Sport 5000’s and ContiSportContact 2, 050 are only used on the poverty package models. What would Opel know

Thanks for the information John. What appeals to me is the availability of manual gearbox cars, you would be hard pressed to find any E60 with a Manual here. Can recommend Glenn, all parts he supplies are OEM but at a reasonable price, all workmanship carried out is above the standard you would expect from a private operation, above what you might expect from a dealership too. Good luck

Just look att the springs, if they say BMW on them its not lowered.
-
Nice, I'll give you 10 for it Welcome to Bimmersport.

Any answers.. Maybe call BMW and ask. Our old E60 just ran a DVD in the dash with relative maps on it, I assume you will just need to buy the NZ Maps DVD and slot it in, any more than that would be simply unlocking a code in the cars computer to gain access with BMW would be able to do. Good luck. Also, good choice of car, how easy is it to bring one in and did it work out economical?? They have some very nicely specified cars in the UK, I have been looking at the E60 550i and 535i with a Manual gearbox.
