Thanks Guys, Race rubber is 15'' Enkis with 205 x 15 x 60 dunlop D01J road / race tyre. Must have legal road rubber to compete. Been a bit of a job getting it to this piont. Had lots of help from Carl. :pimp: And BimmerSport forums lookin for parts. Keep an eye on us, theres about 10 BMWs running this year.

looks like you need some oil in there !!!!! Never seen a diff in a BMW do that before.

TWO TIMES 5 SPEED :pimp: :pimp:

The thing here is that the bloody thing flies. The Owner is not afraid to push it along, uses it during the week as a town car. So it is still reasonably drivable on the road. The money largely has been spent on the BIG brakes and Suspension. re working the head, and performance chip, computer, and now is sending complete car to the States to have S/C fitted and the management system gone over. Where he got the power............ hes not saying much, But its there. I timed him on a few laps and hes doing about 1.20 mins on Manfield Circut. Great to watch
-
Yes glen that is the same car. Cant remember his name but the car was fantastic to watch. :thumb:

What are you trying to say Carl??? Do you still have the pink dice??? The real answer is to have the car the way that you like it to look. It is part of a ststement about who you are
-
Not quite correct. The 323i was 140 hp at fly wheel. We now have 139 at wheels. You can tell the difference to drive. Also gave about 50 nm of torque. Thats the real gain. :bounce: :mosh:
-
Yep they have light in fuel guage as part of the E, gives about 5 liters to run.
-
Might have a spare rear sway bar. not sure will have a look. And they are easy to fit.
-
Good. Lets get on with whats more important to us................ the Cars!
-
Sorry Tim Its not goin down! :mosh: cost too much and already has M suspension in it. And the mags are stayin !!!! :pimp: :pimp:

Yep Deftones, was me at the kart racing. Bl**dy good morning. good to meet up with some of the bimmersport nuts. We should do the race as a group again.
-
Just talked to 320ic owner, his has 51mm, So that confuses the issue again.
-
Not sure if this covers all varities. 316, 318, 320 and early 323 should be fitted with 45 mm dia, later 323, and 325 have the larger 51 mm dia. Unless fitted with M Tech Suspension, then its likely that its the larger 51mm. That is how i have found it. Had 6 e30s apart and found this to be the case.
-
Gee Tim, gettin worried about you fancyin' Sparkles mum.
-
Yep Sparkle, That would be Dave and Sandy. And i know that my car may look like it needs to go down a bit, but its lower than yours.
-
Think that they would look better on my car than on yours

Finally got the time and info to put the pic up... :bounce:

The 323i system was two pipes at 42mm id from the front to rear of the car. when i changed the front manifold to headers, the car felt better but as i had not dydo checked it i cant tell what the diff was. Dyno check after cutting the rear expansion box off and a small play with the air flow gave a 9 hp increase and a torque gain. Air flow on two pipes at 42 id is about 1/3 higer in capacity (as i work it out anyway ) than 1 pipe at about 56 mm id. Now need to make the pipes at the rear larger so they dont look so silly. Backl to 56 mm id i think,. What do you all make of that??????? Im still working it out.

My 323i has manuel steering, but was a very early one, reg August 83. Yes to change from power steering its a different rack.
-
Not sure of the origin of the headers, Very nicely made got them secondhand as almost impossible to find. top speed not yet established, on track 3rd gear about 145km 4th 170km and will pull 5th on back strait of manfield at about 180km with 3700rev. only been running for 3 weeks so a bit soon to really know. old car with same motor and 3.25 : 1 diff was timed at 220 km on back of Puke circut at last Targa. Your right, we tested a 325i and has bulk more torque but not that much more kw, at about 105.

They are not that bad to do. All adjustable just a bit of care how the runners go on Is your one eletric or by handle?
