Not wastin their time rappin!! Car has been fixed, loose bolts on Pressure plate. Clutch pack all ok!, with new release bearing.

Good pionts about the driving style, but dont think that Tane's driving would kill it that way. The bleeding of the clutch on the level, was just to make sure that there was no more air, or trapped air in cylinder. Clutch feels very soft, compared to my race car with the same type of clutch in it. That car has done two Targa's and two years of circut sprint meetings with no problems. It is odd to me that with all new parts that it has failed so soon!

Carl, read the fault and put foot back in mouth!! The car has new slave cylinder in it, and at the time of the gearbox swap had a new master cylinder in then. It feels as though the pressure plate has collapsed, at least in part. No Clutch slipage on hard acceleration, just not enough movement to give smooth change.

Need a little help from any one who has had this happen. 318i auto driving down motor way, car stalls at lights and wont go! Has fuel getting to plugs, and spark, but is weak! Have been through the Bently manual and found that the voltage is low at ignitor. '' Recomends that the pulse generator is faulty. Anyone had this happen and does anyone have one out there???

Lets keep it all a bit sane here. :drugs: Not too many stock road cars will ever reach redline in an overdriven top gear anyway. So top speed as worked out by ratios is purely subjective, how far worn are the tyres, rim sizes differant from stock, all that stuff. Factor in the motors, Carl your 320i is never going to see 250kmh no matter what the diff ratio, i would be surprised to see a 325 or 2.7 motor go out that far. I think that the red line on the 2.7 is lower than most of the other motors, about 5500?? My 2 cents.

The 323 motor that went in to mine was PRE FACE LIFT. 150hp and with the uprated chip probably giving that at the wheels. I Hope!

Not sure how the work is going on this, but. I have done exactly this change, if i understand what you are saying. Took 1991 320i with broken cam belt and most valves bent. Replaced the motor with 1985 323i motor and put the manual gearbox in it as well. No plugs on gear box all on motor. Used all parts off the Motronic '91 car, Inlet manifold, loom, moved the Dissy to front of cam, basically changed every thing that was on the face lift motor and put it on Pre face lift. Then got a chip done in the UK to run the 2.3 motor with Motronic ecu. It will run on the 2.0 lt motor chip, but is MUCH better on bigger chip. Also had it ramped up to give better performance. All round a smooth faster car than the 2.0 . If you need more info PM me.
