Do people actually pay money to find out the remaining answers? If that works, the owner of that site is genius... I'm stuck on 24. The Blue Circle with three shields in it? and the Red Square logo (no the Saleen one)?
-
You don't make me laugh at you anymore. Go away.
-
Glad to hear you're okay. RIP e30 Ash

Done. If there is a track day or equivalent well hit that. How long are you over for?
-
Are those stock mirrors? I can't say I like them... or the sun shade/visor deflectors. I do love the rims though. Very nice ride. Ash

Not in New Zealand it isnt. American English replaces the 's' with a 'z' Example: English (NZ) - recognise American English - recognize But I bet you still have the US dictionary (default) setting on in MS Word. Good luck with the sale. Ash

Now, about the car: Auto? manual? Any other mods? Add some better picutes so we can actually see the car. Is that a seat cover or the colour of the seat? They rims you are getting don't look all that different from the ones on there. Ever considered getting a bodykit instead? Ash

Undercar neons? Chromes? hmmmm, best advice I can give you right now is DON'T BUY ANYTHING ELSE FOR YOUR CAR. Have a look around the forums, trawl through the rides section and check members profiles for inspiration. There are some very nice e30's floating around this board. Then, if you still want to take the ricer route, by all means, go ahead- at least you considered your options. As nicely modded e30's are rare, I can see how its hard to avoid the ricer style if that is all you exposed to and you are new to the scene... The members here are very helpful (more so if you use ENGLISH), especially if they know you have down some of your own research first. Anyway, Welcome Ash

Those rims really help make white look... good. Nice to see more M's Welcome Ash.

Spent last night taking a few photos. Any advice/critic would be appreciated- I'm a real novice with an SLR. Ash (do we need a photography forum?)
-
I was never selling the style 5's and after seeing the potential of the RS's I have decided to keep them too and eventually refurbish them. And yes, unless you have a done a 5-lug conversion, they would suit your car anyway... If you have another four more i'd be interested Cheers Ash

Unfortunately no, I only have the BMW ones. Something for the shopping list...

Well mate you're in luck, I'm taking my full snowboard gear bag over so that could actually be a possibility... I'll be there on Feb. Ash

Update: No major problems as yet with the M. However, there is a growing list of things to do. Found out my discs (newish cross-drilled zimmermans from PO) are warped, this leads to massive shudder under breaking when they are hot- the entire dash and stearing wheel where moving more than an inch violently up and down- not conducive to quick driving... So, new discs all round, pads, braided lines and fluid will be happening at some stage. I need my schims (sp?) replaced. New engine mounts, gearbox mounts, seals, camber plates (probably get a gruppe-A set). The car leaks a little oil from somewhere- working on that. The engine is tired, I have the smallest airbox on there, and extractors, plus PO didn't put in a cross-pipe section in the new exhaust (idiot). So will get the EVO airbox, (The DTM CF airbo/plenum is way out of my budget at the moment) plus extractors and a chip (will get an Alpha-N system at some stage or just man-up and buy a complete stand alone EMS like a Motec 400). All this from car that is in pretty good condition. I feel for the new owners of e30 M3's that havn't been looked after (or have rust). The BBS style #5's on the car now slow the car down significantly (heavy and large diameter rears), so I've decided to refurbish the other set of wheels that came with the car- which I have just noted are BBS RS's (16x8 and 16x9 - w00t!) They will go from this: To this: I've been on the Europeon Car Club of Australia forums and went on a 'cruise' here in WA: Good fun Will keep you posted as things progress- I can't see anything happening until after Feb, with xmas, and I'm in Europe (maybe I can pick up some DTM parts while I'm over there....hmmmm, Sam, you still need those mirrors picked up?) Cheers Ash

Quick answer: No you wont get 40kw (not with cams that don't sacrifice bottom end anyway...). The 2.5 is quite efficient (unlike the 2.8, which like Andrew noted, is restricted and can easily make significant horses relatively inexpensively). I'd start with airbox, chip and exhaust before I considered cams. While the breathing is ok, whats the point of new cams if you dont free up some more air first? Ash

mmmmm, tread.... Goodyear Eagles.. Ash

My current set up is 225/35/17 on the front and 245/40/17 on the rear from the PO. This stagged set up gives me understeer, the general consensus on s14.net (which is useful in your case with your M3 set up) is 225's all round is a good bet. Anything wider, like in my case, and you have to play with camber plates etc etc. (you can get away with 235's...) My personal opinion is 17's are the perfect size for e30's if you looking for bling while considering performance. I'll be changing my tyres (when my current tires die) to a more neutral setup. The 245/40/17's on the rear further reduce acceleration (when combined with my heavy style 5's), with a larger rotational diameter. Just another consideration. As we have low torque motors, rim and tyre weight are that much more important- to the point were the butt dyno will notice. When I track, I'll throw the 16's back on. Ash

Patrol? With winch, high roof, bulls, spotties... I vote patrol or landcruiser.
-
Wider tires do have more grip. The friction co-effieient takes into account surface area. Its a force over area relationship. Normal force in this case is vertical. google it.

Done. Cheers Ash
