  1. I know it’s a bit of a long shot, but does anyone have a M-Tech 1 rear-skirt kicking around that they would be willing to part with?

Always wanted to put the Tech1 front and rear on my very, and have been lucky enough to find the front, so just need a rear now.

Anything considered, doesn’t have to be mint and only need the plastic skirt part not the chrome bumper or the rest of it.

  2. So to summarise.. it’s a re-shelled slightly modified M5?

I love the way it’s all about being a “sleeper” and then it’s got great big drifter Rota wheels on it.. kind of blows the cover really?

    Cool car though.

  3. As predicted, the day I took the ‘vert for the WoF it was pissing down! I had forgotten how much “fun” it is to drive a classic car in the wet.

And to cap it all off, failed the WoF has the bump stops had completely disintegrated. Luckily they were in stock in NZ at the BMW parts warehouse, so both have been fitted. Off for the re-check tomorrow morning, hoping to pass so I can take her to the E30 meet up on Sunday.

    Chances of it raining anyone..???

For 120k I want an Evo II with an S14 thanks.

At today’s prices it would have to be a rough as Evo II needing quite a bit of work.

Non original M3s are a hard market to price, as it’s all down to personal taste.

  5. Inspired by @CSET and the Facebook series “playing with cars” I decided to use some spare bits to get the convertible back together so I can at least take it for a WoF while I wait for the parts to come back from panel and paint.

So I now have a “rat rod” style Vert, fingers crossed for the WoF!

M57 motor, regarded as pretty bulletproof

Yes, they are in normal factory tune. However when internet tuners start mucking around with them you can get issues. I would want more details of the tune to understand how well it’s been done.

  7. After a few sunny days and feeling that summer is around the corner I have started to get the vert out of hibernation ready for summer.
Battery on charge, a few bits off for panel and paint, some bits to bolt back together.

So, it will probably start to rain for the whole summer once it’s all back together and on the road? 🤣

Curious to write it off? Looks like pretty straight forward fix from the pics.

Rear floor damage, will need to go on chassis machine to check alignment plus a good few panels to be replaced.
If you’ve got the gear and know what you are doing would be a good project.

And yeah, they are writing cars off far too easily these days.

  9. @Neal you won’t get clicks and likes and subscribers for your YouTube channel with that kind of positivity. Got to sensationalise things to get the attention.

Not sure what age the engine in question was but for ages the servicing and oil changing has been “condition based” and there’s a time factor as well.

And that’s all before you get into what oil to use.

    Seems cheap... 😂

Always very difficult to put a price on historic race cars, and whilst it is originally a Frank Gardener JPS car it doesn’t sound like it was one of the “main” ones, not run at Bathurst by JPS Team and not one of JRs championship cars.

If I get those lotto numbers I would buy this in a heartbeat!

If anyone has recently replaced their RFTs on a G20 series (especially 330e) I'd love to hear your views on what was offered and and whether you found a good option.

What tyres are you running on it at the moment? Happy with those or you need to change?

Check with you local BMW dealer, they should be able to offer you the Bridgestones as they were a factory option.
They seemed pretty good on the 3 Series I have driven.
