i was in another BMW forum the other day (cant for the life of me remember what it was now :banghead: ) that had a section solely devoted to asking questions regarding legal issues. they had a few members that were police officers that would answer them. how good would that be? we could all know without doubt what is legal and what isnt. if there are any "officers of the law" here please come forward. i know friend of mine who is a police officer avoids stepping up at times like these because he feels he would possibly be shunned but i dont think this is really that kind of forum. i think the law abiding members here outweigh the "hoons" and any help would be appreciated.

This isn't really the time or place for this, ESPECIALLY as this is a monitored forum. why? where have i broken the law or suggested we do? i have voiced an opinion that not in any way shape or form breaks any law i know of. why is my comment more controversial then martyyn saying "and she knows how power crazy some of them are" or "Are all police officers naturally this suspicious, or is it a power trip thing" if i had said "lets get them back by driving like fools and racing around doing burnouts" then maybe your comment would have some substance, but i didnt and i wouldnt. as i said before ... "dont get me wrong i have no problem with police doing a job, and if you were speeding or driving dangerously sure pull you up" i also said "it makes it hard to respect the police" i didnt say i dont. the real problem it higher up then the 'bobby on the beat' and i understand that. when a police officer is compelled to call in a number plate, find out who owns the car then go through a back ground search on the owner to look for faults, quite frankly i feel sorry for the police officer. im sure he or she didnt join the nz force so they could do petty crap like that. as for being a monitored forum, any police reading this ... i feel for you! you shouldnt have to waste time on so called "random pull ups" just to make a quota.

thats your answer rite there i think.not enough police for call outs (taxi in piha incident) but pulling someone up to threaten a $400 ticket for an expired licence... come on dont get me wrong i have no problem with police doing a job, and if you were speeding or driving dangerously sure pull you up but its just getting stupid out there... its all about the dollar. it makes it very hard to respect the nz police doesnt it.

total poo...

depends who you talk to... most people start a quote at $100.00 per cylinder and work from there. if it was me i would print off some photos you like the look of and take them to people see what they think.

yes it can, but it will need a lot of grinding to match port it. pretty common in the U.S on "cheaper" turbo builds. im guessing your wanting to use it to turbo your car??? i looked at doing it in the begining but by the time you turn you manifold, grind it to fit and make an adaptor doesnt leave much room for a turbo. (and its a lot of stuffing around) ive had quotes to build a turbo manifold from $600.00 to $900, you will be a lot happier if you just pay for one. would be interested to see how it works out if you do it.

sucks dude might have an mtech 1 for sale soon if that helps ya. will be pretty cheap but will not have LSD and the 2.5 has been changed to a 2lt. will still be a 5 speed though. if everything goes to plan should be for sale soon, ill pm you and you can have first option on it.

did you order them yourself or through someone else?local holden parts department were not all that helpful unless i can supply model / year of car (holden) did they a stright swap? or did you have to modify your fuel rail?

ok looks like i will be running one then... i might have found one that will mount off to the side. E30-323ti - nope too wide conrod - "you couldn't really afford to do the job properly in the first place!" ... although i did say cost puts me off, what i should have said was if it is at all possible to get around spending about $400.00 on this engine i would like too. a lot of you wont agree with what im doing but this first engine is really a grenade or trial if that sits better with you. i have another engine im building on the side that needs as much cash thrown at it as i can, so any corners i can "safely" cut here i will. Andrew - none, just standard. i really want to find an mtech 2 front but i cant seem to find one.

is anyone out there using an after market fuel pump? if so what are you using and is it working?
-
anyone (gus) know if 320's and 325's use the same injectors? if not what size is each?
-
yea its just the cost of an after market oil cooler that puts me off, but i hear ya.
-
because of where i have had to mount my intercooler it is impossible to put my oil cooler back where it should be so im thinking i might leave it off. i know that with the turbo the car will be running hotter then before so can i get away with no oil cooler? not many standard cars run oil coolers anyway so im guessing it will be ok. would love to have other peoples opinion on this cheers

why dont you guys just go to a LINK???

pretty handy site. there is a lot of crap on there but some good stuff to... bmwdiy

sounds like a vacuum leak to me also.start the car and listen for any (might be very quiet) hiss. focus around the inlet manifold. also check the bit the arrow is pointing to in the photo below... dont know what this is called or what its for (MAP sensor for link now) but unless its blocked off my car runs really crappy

hi where did you find that first photo?
