  1. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant, do you have any idea on pricings for the job, it's a 2001 X5 4.4i sportpac. Cheers Jochen
  2. Jochen? Does anyone have any info on how to convert the Jap nav to the NZ version? The guy I bought the car from rekon'd it can be done by chucking in the DVD provided by BMW NZ, but have heard that the player itself & other things had to be replaced? Any info would be much appreciated. Cheers.

    The X5 V8

Ahh ok yeah. Dunno with paint, would it be durable enough being applied to that glossy surface?

Yeah the interior is mint but just not keen on that woodgrain, more a fan of the silver myself. Wonder if they are interchangeable??? Example:

    The X5 V8

It goes as good as it looks, it's in A1 condition & I'm bloody fussy. Took a few pics, arrived back from Auckland this arvo after a long weekend driving! Have a few pictorials for all to see. One thing to point out with these trucks is the handling, it's superb for such a big heavy car. If anyone knows the road to Akaroa (80km from Christchurch), I had the tyres screeching in the wet! FA bodyroll also & the stability management keeps you in a straight line.
  6. I've got the thickest skin and it never bothered me whatsoever. I just can't understand how some would go to the extent of posting such opinions. All the same as you say, this is a forum where healthy debate is a must, but as I said, some of it wasn't needed. It is my decision what car I buy & it should stop at that, now if I'd bought a M3 and put cragers on it & painted it matt black, then I'd expect sh*t to be hung lol I'm interested in quality & performance, not necessarily performance 100% The M3 I had lined up was a good opportunity at a great price which fell through obviously, hence the thread then the X5 came up and I couldn't pass it up, always wanted one but could never quite afford one. I made money on the Touareg, bought it from a wholesaler who was desperate to move it after having it 4-5 months from memory. Alot of the cars I sell mate head to queenstown where the money seems to be.
  7. Aint lost a dime Made money, its about buying them right otherwise the wife wouldn't let me do it and/or I'd be bankrupt lol :)
  8. I actually couldn't have put it better myself. All this thread was about was & what this whole site was about was sharing with the other BMW owners the BMW that was purchased & for a little discussion. Not to hang sh*t on me for going for a car certain people in their own opinions didn't like or because it was different from the car I was in pursuit of originally. Best this tread was locked imo. Obviously, gone are the days of discussion of a good BMW made 4x4. There's more to life than M3's & going full speed 100% of the time, I'm only 26 & have plenty of time
  9. Yep, I totally agree. X5 has the TV which apparently works, sat nav which apparently works, colour is saphire black with black leather interior, 3 memory heated seats, tinted rear windows, 6 stacker, climate dual a/c, sunroof, sportpac & the 19" alloys. Looks bloody good to be brutally honest! But ofcourse I would say that Will post pics when I get it home on Saturday. Fly up to Auckland tomorrow at 6:50am FFS, arrive at 9:30am pick it up there, sign the sale & purchase & I'm off to the ferry to make it in time for the 7:30pm sailing. Staying in blenheim tomorrow night and then up first thing that next morning all the way thru to Dunedin.
  10. X5 standard does the 0-100 sprint in just over 7 seconds & on to a top speed of 130mph, it aint slow in my book.
  11. I think those who know me here will remember that I've had about 5 cars this year alone, I like most euro cars & will own a M3 one day, but at that stage, the deal wasn't right & it never went through. I'm an opportunist & the X5 was bought for just over 20k & that is a superb price for such a vehicle! 20k for an X5 is bloody good!
  12. Your on to it, I've also got a ZX twin turbo which goes well for an oldie, good nick, so I guess I can tow it there with the X5, pulling up looking like a drug dealer
  13. Hahaha! I think you's both really need to pay attention to what was originally said. I MYSELF was purchasing the E46 M3 - hence this post, the deal fell through A FRIEND of mine was buying another car for himself in which I am still helping them with That's my point
  14. Both cars are great in my opinion, the X5 was an exceptional price. Just to add, I bought the car because I wanted it & I think the X5 is also a great looking vehicle, I like the M3's & most BMW's /struggles to see your point...
  15. Nice. I've been in a 120i and that went well, driven a 330d and it was astonishing, the diesels are something else with BMW, nice choice & I bet it is doing some awesome fuel consumption figures!
  16. Believe it or not I'm not sorry about the M3, because I got this a few grand less than the asking price. The cheapest similar milage X5 on TM is a dog in comparison with the 3.0 engine! & it's 30k!
  17. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=170094410 I know it has high k's but I bought a BA XR6 from this person a while back which I sold to my brother inlaw & it's still going strong & as previously the car was in mint as new condition & from the pics this one looks just as good! Has high k's as above, but it comes with a 1 year bumper to bumper, it's a Jappa ofcourse and I got it for even less than the asking price. Flying up on Friday to drive it back. Look at the link before it dissapears which he's advised will be tomorrow. Plan of attack is, I fly up first thing Friday, drive down to wellington, jump on the ferry and then sleep at picton/blenheim. Then all the way back to Dunedin first thing in the morning Has a 6 stacker so that should keep me company on the way back down. Had a Touareg and a few other high end 4x4's but always wanted a X5 of my own, actually have one in the driveway at the moment I'm trying to sell on behalf & they're fantastic!
  18. That ultra guy is all over the place. Too true with the identity crisis, it's not an M3 Seems he likes CAPS LOCK too lol
  19. Thanks Quail, will have a good read to see what the lads think.
  20. Yer, its alot more. But it seems an extra 10k ontop of 20k gets you so much more in the way of performance e.t.c. He may have to spend the extra. He has the money the bastard!
  21. Hey Cam. That unit isn't an Evo, & I seen that very car early this morning before I went to work. Being a 3.0 its a standard M3, I'm sure he had it listed as a 3.2 this morning????? Toyota Prius vs M3 hmmmm jochen. M3 fuel consumption was purely a question of curiousity This car below is alot more expensive, but what do you critics think of it? Good value at 35 slides? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=171589960
  22. Nah, as I said it isn't for the economy. Thats quite impressive to be quite honest, nothing wrong with those figures at all! It's basically a 2.5litre Legacy.
  23. Thanks Cam. I do think the colour is abit out there myself, it suits the M3 I think, but probably wouldn't suit a VX Landcruiser imo ofcourse, dunno, it's not bad... Next question, although its probably not a car you purchase for fuel economy, are they bad/good? what are you returning, doesnt bother the guy but thought I'd check anyways. Cheers.
  24. Roger that, hey can you remember what car yard? Because Turners is on Portsmouth drive & you said Andy Bay road yeah? Haha!
