I'm looking into doing the exhaust and chipping the X5. Would like to hear some suggestions & suppliers in NZ that would do an X5. Is chipping your rig a DIY thing or does it have to go into be done? With the exhaust, I was simply thinking of removing both back resonators to give a bit of extra noise without going overboard. Thoughts?

Got it sorted, still waiting for the nice bill to arrive. It was a R/H Front wheel bearing. Still cheaper than replacing the tyres on the front! Thanks for the help

That could be the case. Would this mean that I need to replace the front tyres, the noise seems to be coming from the front anyway...

I've got an E53 I think it is, which is giving a slight humming noise at speeds most noticeable above 80kph. Could this be the front bearings or has anyone had this issue before? Thanks

Hey there. I had a E60 with the i-drive and there is no known replacement as of yet for the system to convert from Jap to NZ. There is the avenue of perusing which requires everything to be replaced but it was far too expensive like 10k from memory. Things may have changed since I owned mine. Best of luck.

That Audi went for 34k which is bloody cheap! Heard thru the grapevine that its an ex repo from Queenstown, all 5 tyres on the car (including the spare) have been shredded to death (burnouts) Still, a very cheap car!

I think with the dealers putting up their prices now will end up shooting themselves in the foot further seing sales of cars is down in NZ with this global credit crunch, people seem to be dynabolting their wallets shut. Just interested to know if anyone is up with the play on the pricing for the 330ci's There's one at Cooke Howlison BMW here in Dunedin which I'm seriously considering purchasing, which ofcourse will mean the black X5 is down the road. It's a: - 2001 BMW 330ci M sport - Full M3 type factory kit (very similar) - 85km - 18" factory alloys - Red!!! - Rear PDC - NZ New It's listed @ $27k which I thought was very very good! It's an absolute tough looking unit & I'm itching to get it in my garage. I'm going to take it for a test drive on Tuesday & will report here when I do. They're only 170kw & 300nm from what I've read, but they do 100 in 6.5 seconds & electronically restrained at 155mph (249kph) (about the speed your are issued a parking ticket here in Dunedin if you are 1 minute over) - these are the stats for the normal 330ci, does the M have extra power or? Watch this space lol!

Haha! I seen an escalade yesterday (new one) doing a U-Turn at a normal speed & it looked like it was going to roll (violently & kill several people) Classic example of true american rubbish. Gimmie something German anyday!

It doesnt take much for any euro to clock up that kind of money. Tyres, brakes e.t.c is part of maintaining any car. For the year, the X5 has held it's value better than any other german SUV. I've driven the 3.0 and they go ok, but they've got nothing on the V8!

Found it, was behind the glovebox. Truely amazed at how many fuses the girl has, there's a second fusebox in the back! Cheers.

Theres a huge amount of similar auctions with iPhones for example. If it's too good to be true chances are it bloody well is the slimy bastards!

That is a nice little 3 series for that money. I even asked him what he wanted for it bottom dollar, even though it is probably cheap at 2500 if the engine is as good as the rest of the car looks.

Generally that kind of thing is not economical to repair, thus more economical to replace the actual screen as you know what you've got, thats if it's anything to go off with LCD panels on laptops. Some laptop panels are 800 bucks at cost + 1 hours labour, so a 3 year old laptop thats worth 500 bucks in working condition is suddenly uneconomical to repair...

Yeah that guy wants too much for that towbar... Crazy seing its 2nd hand & he wants more for that than a brand new one. Being BMW Genuine doesn't mean a shite of difference, they still tow the same.
