It does look far worse than what it is, all the dust and sh*t comes up from the gravel roads and falls through the cracks in the floor of the boot.

Mein Deutsch ist sehr Sheisse but I found this on Ebay this morning. Would this do the job? Will get pics at some stage today.... http://cgi.ebay.de/TV-Free-Freischaltung-B...=item3cb2b3fffb Also, I'm wanting to perhaps change the M logo off the screen on startup, can you put your own JPG file or atleast have it back to the BMW logo? Would this amplifier give me DSP controls (obviously bar the 2x subwoofers) but give me better sound Jochen? http://cgi.ebay.de/Artikelbild-BMW-E38-39-...=item3362bd0955

Longshot but aero kit for E53 X5 facelift?

Yes it seems as if they were right in not going in there, it must have been such a coctail, I will have a bit of a cry to myself this is just such a sad moment to NZ and the world at this time.

If you're totally out of the loop it unfortunately looks as if it will be a recovery not a rescue. As soon as I seen the footage of the portal yesterday I knew in my mind that it wasn't favourable. If they are still alive then awesome.

This is going ahead next week with a bit of luck. I'm not replacing the speakers in the doors simply due to the fact that the supplier and installer doens't recommend it. He believes the sub install on my back RH panel and amp will be suffice to give me a decent amount of grunt. Will post pics once it's all done.

Upgrading S class to 7 Series... some suggestions?
deeveus replied to Avenged.SSE's topic in General Discussion
You'd have to be one of the youngest E65 owners, good on you (if you get one I meant) I've driven one of those S classes before and they're very smooth and refined. But not being interested in japanese imports? I mean you have a Lexus which has to be NZ New? -
Instantly bookmarked. Thanks for the heads up on the resource Wom.

I was too lazy to read it all, but it had said my signature had been registered then went to the donation page.

Aren't some councils giving out tickets to illegally parked speed camera vans? Here in Dunedin, I was following a late model Hyundai heading south on the Dunedin>Mosgiel motorway when the van infront jammed on his anchors to a near complete stop (in the lane) to get in behind the sign and park up, I then noticed the bastard was a speed camera so on with the horn it was and he got the "birds" out the window too. The guy didn't even pay attention, no indicator, nice. I thought it was illegal to stop for no reason on a motorway so why are they getting away with it? Coincidentally, I was doing above 100kph and he was infront of me, well above 100kph. What kind of message is that sending?

The Aston must be an epic drive but I'm with you on this one, I've never been one to have all my eggs in one basket.

I purchased a Yamaha ATV in the weekend, however after using it on Saturday night I noticed the lights became dim, the brightness of the lights didn't change weather or not the bike was on or off, so obviously an electrical problem/magneto. Had it professionally diagnosed and have been quoted $645 to have the stator rewound, price for a new stator installed was $900 - one of the biggest issues is the fact it will take 3-4 weeks to do! I found that price over the hill because I have had a alternator in a European car refurbished before and it was a fraction of the cost. Does anyone here know about ATV repairs, costs and what's involved with doing the repair myself? Just trying to keep costs down! Previous owner had the battery replaced so it was obviously an existing fault and he's virtually un-prepared to help. Cheers.

Hi Daniel, I wonder if your touch up paint is my colour of the X5? If it is I'd be interested. Cheers.

No more BMW for me, still german though
deeveus replied to 318Touring's topic in Other European Cars
I noticed this too. X band is disabled on mine I think, comes up saying X band off on startup. So if enabling that it should work again? -
Probably because BMW's are like Toyota's over here... It says in the write up it's a 3 series he's burning? Looks like a 7 to me..

This is true. I recently replaced our LG 37" which I paid mega bucks for 5 years ago when we lived in Melbourne - this TV is still working 100% and is now on our wall at our crib. I replaced it with a LG 42" LCD TV and the reason for staying with LCD over LCD LED was the simple fact of cost. We got the TV for $1077inc GST - the TV is obviously 1080p, USB, 100hz and has a brilliant picture. One thing worth mentioning is that my old 37" was twice as heavy and probably better made. The newer ones seem to be a bit more plastic, seems to be the same with Samsung also. Brand wise Samsung & LG would be the only brands I'd bother with.

Your a computer technician, you could have bought those with your lunch money.

Dam, so poor carjam will be kicked to the kerb and more than likely go under because it probably relies on advertising as it's main form of income?? It's a great resource in my opinion.

about to import e90 320i, should i get one with idrive?
deeveus replied to andybchch's topic in General Discussion
Out of curiosity Ron, what kind of savings can be achieved by importing yourself mate? Is there any way to search for cars on that site without an account and obtain prices? Just being nosey at this stage. -
To be honest I have noticed a little more smoke from my diesel but it's never black, it's always a sooty dusty type and is only for a second under hard load. Then again, I could be imagining things as I wasn't looking for it before. I recently had a Touareg V10 infront of me with pipes coming out the back as they do and you could tell when he was under hard load, the black soot coming out that back was unreal, I've seen two like that. Heres what you have to look foward to in a Yes it's had the ECU done but to pull past a M3 thats super!
-
Not that I'd recommend this as a comparison, but for example the XR6 Turbo is a very restricted engine. But I know for a fact that the M57TUD30 is a bullet proof engine thus me nor three other people I know that own or have owned them have never had an issue with this engine. I asked when I bought the re-map how the hell do you get that kind of increase just from a re-map and his answer was the fact that European emissions laws are so strict, but they also increased the PSI on the turbo. I found my X5 used slightly less fuel after the re-map, probably due to the fact that the engine doesn't have to work as hard.
-
Yeah, I remember hearing that the earlier E46 330d had the older X5 diesel engine which was slighly less power at 135 and 410nm - not sure what they did to it to achieve the 160kw and 500nm and I was told my 2005 model Range Rover 3.0 diesel had that powerplant. Trust BMW not to give it more power than their X5 even though the RR was 50 times as heavy!
-
Just the ECU, has to be, they are the same engines in the same year as the E60/E53/E90 yet different power slightly. I gained 100nm and 40kw from just a re-map on my X5 the difference amazing, the performance is brutal around town and relentless on the open road, 600nm puts a smile on your face thats for sure. I've had a 2.5 ton boat on the back of my X5 before and I'm sure the engine was just having a laugh at it, it didn't bother it whatsoever. So all up, they are a great powerplant.
