Hey Glenn, good on ya. I smoked since I was 15 till I was 25. When living in Australia I was a truck driver and used to power smoke a 50 pack in 1.5 days. I wasn't planning on giving up but when I left to come home from AU I travelled to Brizzie from Melbourne and stayed with relatives. The night before I left for NZ I had the biggest night on the piss in me life. I smoked a 50 pack in one day, in the morning I was so sick from smokes and alcohol I decided to have a day off. When I got back to NZ 2 days went past and I thought sh*t?!? I haven't had a smoke, so I thought f**k it, I'll carry this on and wet complete cold turkey. First few days even air and doors made me angry but trust me mate, you'll get over it. It's not so much the financial gain that was the incentive but the fact you're not handing coin over the government and the health benefits is what made me carry on. My wife bought me packet of ciggies Pack of Horizon Red 50's it was before we got on the plane, I still have that sealed packet of smokes to this day 5 years later! If the camera was charged I'd pic it but what I plan to do is put that in a frame with a bottle of beer that I had left over from my 21's

I use Dura-Seal products - they're quite pricey but they're very good & easy to use. You get a kit when you purchase the product which coats your car for a guaranteed 5 years from memory, it's a teflon based applicant that restricts dust/mud from sticking to your paint thus not becoming dirty so easy and easier to clean & providing an awesome shine & mirror reflection. The car wash is about 50 dollars per litre.

You'd be fairly unlucky for your wireless to be breached if you: - Have MAC address only enabled - 128bit/256 encryption passworded or WPA2 Mixed if wireless lan card / router allows - SSID disabled Every wireless network I install has this. There is software out there that can eavesdrop but your far less likely to be infiltrated if you observe the above. It means my customers usually call because their mates or new computers find it hard to join the network but it's far safer IMO.

It would make a difference to living above the snowline and our trips to Queenstown and skiing, it would also make a difference to where our crib is on hilled gravelled roads. Try towing in these situations without 4WD. Try towing and launching & retrieving my inlaws 2.5 ton boat. Regular fishing would also have to be eliminated as although my X5 isn't designed for offroad it would be useless compared to a 5 series getting to my fishing areas, especially towing through light river crossings. Ok, 2WD 80% of the time. So what you're saying is that I should buy a 4WD with difflocks to get up to the ski fields and tow my ATV around? I couldn't have done the trip I did last weekend without 4WD. Tell you what: Put a 5 series against a diesel X5 towing and doing what I'm doing for a living and see what the difference would be. Compare them. I'm not defending my purchase because I don't have to, I bought my vehicle because I wanted it and because it suits our needs.

Sorry, I can't understand why that is a bad thing. If someone buys a 4WD then it's up to them, it has nothing to do with anyone else. Things have to be different up your way, down here people do use their 4WD for what they are intended for. Not 100% of them but it has to be a higher percentage.

It's not encouraging it. Some people's requirements other than your own sometimes require the use of a SUV or 4WD. My needs suit what I have, your needs suit what you have I guess.

IMO it should be 3 ton because most 4WD's are 3 ton & under. It is still cheaper but the gap has closed in the last few years. I just done a 550km trip towing and used half a tank over the weekend costing aprox $80 including RUC. If it had been my old V8 X5 it would have used a tank easily aprox 170 bucks.

In the last few months petrol/diesel and RUC have all gone up making it about 20 dollars a week more to run my car. IMO this is alot of you put this over a month or even year. They've put RUC up and GST aswell, but they put FKN GST on the RUC! A tax on a tax!

Won't be trading in as I'd probably look at swapping my X5 for a 911 or RS6 or that kind of unit (a toy) down the track. Will need finance to the tune of about 50% of the value. This is a client of mine. He's been trying to sell this for quite some time. It's a realistic price IMO. I've been in it and driven it and it has to be one of the most scariest yet best experiences I've ever had. The noise from that supercharger is enough to give anyone a semi. I gave him beans about the transmission being a tiptronic auto as my 07 GTS was a manual. He then explained that once you drive it you'll find you just don't have time to change gears nor keep up with it's acceleration making (unless your the stig) - Trust me, point it straight ahead and just hold on, use the middle of the road because it starts to get very thin very quickly!
