My first 3 phones, Thinking back through all the phones I have had.... So so so many different ones, Im a sucker for new phones when they come out. Got my first phone for Xmas when I was 11, a Phillips Saavy then a Alcatel One touch easy and then a Nokia 5110 just because I liked to be able to change the faceplates, which I did, almost every day I had a different cover on...

AC Schnitzer Type 3 wheels. One of my favourite wheels. I wannnnnt a set

Id say given it is a aftermarket head unit that can do all the things most people these days want when buying a brand new car. Its ability to simply be plugged into the existing car without any modifications for a resonable price I'd say this unit is absoulutley excellent. It looks OEM enough and its much better than the standard radio or the 4:3 Nav screen type found in earlier E39's. I'd deffinatly be keen to pick one of these up but I wont be doing so until after New Years and Im back in uni and paid for all my text books etc haha

Im in the same boat man, Im unsure of where to order one from for my E39. I would kind of rather get one in NZ. Let me know where you end out getting one from if you do. From what I have heard it is straight plug and play, but if you choose to add things on like reversing camera etc you obviously will have to wire that through the car etc..

SOLD for $200
-
Id actually say those figures are about right, given the kms and the year and spec of both cars. Give or take a few thousand dollars but near enough to the right price.
-
Yeah Tristan they would be horrendously expensive and you will have to import from Europe or somewhere. I reckon you should still rock M6 wheels...
-
Cheers Nick! They are way cheaper than all the others on Trade me thats for sure! Link to Trade Me Auction

I can appreciate the work thats gone into doing that up to that point but sadly thats where the appreciation ends. The two cars are way too differently shaped for the end result to look good. It looks photoshopped simply because you cant believe someone would do something so stupid.. He didnt even put a nice E60 front on... could have at least put a motorsport front on it. Bloody junkyard cowboys.

Yours is facelift. On the motorsports they sometimes kept the black trim on the doors and bumper. On normal spec facelift E39's the rubbing strips are painted body colour. Only M5 got the rounded mirrors. Yeah if your headlights are not set up for Xenon then it might prove difficult come WOF time. But I always assumed that if you have that kind of lense then the use of HID would be okay. Mine are set up for HID but I dont see how they are any different to any other headlight unit with the same lense on it. I thought they might dazzle other drivers but Ive seen my car driving at night by a family member and they wernt blinding and annoying like most HID are known to be Who knows, maybe a bit of research is in order and besides HID kits can be sourced cheap enough to try it out or the Narva bulbs from Repco should do the trick..
-
These still need a home... and are way way cheaper that just the lenses alone on trademe etc
-
I always thought all FL E39's were Xenon equipped? or at least HID retrofit was an option... But yeah give those bulbs from Repco a whirl and see what you think. It should eliminate the yellowness from your lights anyway.. HID vs. Halogen, you know you want to.....
-
You could go HID if you want whiter lights, its the only way to get really nice white. But there are a few brands of Halogen bulbs that create quite a nice white like. Narva super blue bulbs from Repco come out plain bright white, with a small bit of blue. I used them in my E36 and worked quite nicely. E39 cruise, could be this cool....

Yess! good to see more E39's on here, its about time. Awsome colour also, looks like the same colour as my one. Top notch mate, looks like a keeper!

Yeah Tristan sounds correct here. I would deffinatly avoid going to Apple or Vodafone to try get it unlocked as when I bought my handset outright from Apple they make you sign a contract and make you install your sim card there in the shop and assign the phones serial number to the sim card also so people dont just buy the handsets and sell them overseas etc. But im pretty sure there are quite a few people out there who can unlock it for you. Obviously it probably voids warrenty etc...
-
I dont think you can get them unlocked at Vodafone or Apple as far as I know. I always assumed if your bought a locked iPhone its locked to the country it was sold in first and Jailbreaking is your only way to unlock it again. But I could quite easily be wrong, I just didnt risk it and bought a brand new one insted..

Thats damn awesome!

Taupo for Pre-NYE then Highlife at Stonyridge, then off to the bach at Coromandel then to our other place just out of Matakana. Shall be a goody! Lots of sweet drives between places, cant wait.
-
Shocking I know... I thought I'd just get it and give it a whirl and from what I have read its upgradable by using a Mk2 ,3 or 4 module if I still like it otherwise I will go down the Dynavin route since it seems to do quite a lot for around the same price it would cost to convert to a Mk4... hmmm Well if they are just gathering dust and you hoard the stuff, Im sure we can work out a deal then
-
Welcome aboard mate sounds like you have had a few pretty nice cars. Would love to see some pictures of the B10!
-
^ Are you also the one bidding on all the MK1 Nav stuff on Trademe? Bugger off!! haha I want that stuff
-
$40,000 and it still looks no better than every other 1992 E36 in bad condition
-
This is awesome. Giving me enthusiasm to get my ass into gear and sort out the situation I got going on in the wheel department on the 39. Top notch mate!
