Did vanos seals, water pump, thermostat, thermostat housing, fan clutch, hoses, valve cover gasket, valve cover bolt grommets, serpentine belt tensioner and idler pulley. Took about 6 hours all up

Just sounds like to me that your monitor is fubared. Mine did similar weird sh*t before it stopped working all together. All its sweet in my world after shelling out a small fortune for a new monitor and head unit. Beware of you get an e38 one you will need to swap the fascia so your trim fits

Black Murcilago out side the general store, Paekakariki. Owner was a gc, giving the small crowd a run down on the hydraulics. Popped the bonnet to show off that sexy V12. Want.

How's the low end power? Could be timing is out/vanos needs attention

^^mine gets munched on parking blocks too. Hate to think how bad it's going to be when I fit the acs lip. It's no wonder there's not to many around any more...

Replaced L/R window regulator destroyed chrome trim strip at the top off the door in the process. Ideal time to find some genuine shadowline?

Yes it's cold, but no where near as cold as say, Dunedin. In winter you'll notice that the Wellington uniform for all and sundry is a black puffer jacket. As for BMW mechanics, I've only ever used Mike page in Paraparaumu. Top bloke, top service, very reasonable hourly rate

Its not too bad high up, no distortion or rattling bass. Pretty happy with it!
I have 4 speakers and I "think" 6 tweeters. (2 speakers in front door, 2 on back tray, 4 tweeters up the front and 2 in rear door)
How hard is wiring in sub/amp for it? Mm have to weigh up loss of boot space, which could be a problem with a toddler and prams etc.

2 tweeters up front, two mids up front, 2 bass driver up front, 2 tweeters in the rear, and two bass drivers in parcel shelf.
Least I think that's the set up, not sure why they would need 4 tweeters up front, although I agree the grills are all small

Sweet thanks Glenn. Will get the appropriate tool before I get into it.
Edit: Just checked and i have the correct tool already. Looking forward to getting this job done next week (Vanos seals) -
Is a Phillips screwdriver a suitable substitute for a crank lock pin on an m52?

shadowline on one side, chrome on the other? Boot interior is quite scruffy too. Still, could be worth a look.

Regret selling both my 540's. Would buy the black one back in a heartbeat if I had the funds and it was for sake

After attempting a fluid change on a broken e34 540 trans, with the car on stands, I swore I'd pay someone to do it next time. It's messy, it's smelly, and tbh for the sake of a couple of hundy, much better left to a pro with a hoist and a proper flush machine. Also this way you know you have replaced all old fluid in one shot.

Check your overflow tank. I had the exact same issue with mine, and it turned out to be a cracked nipple on the overflow tank, New tank sorted the issue.

All other functions stem to work, like I can still change obc settings ( just can't see what I'm doing). Any chance you have a full unit then?

I've also found that certain metallics come out a lot darker when sprayed with an aerosol can. Read something some where about it being due to lack of pressure in aerosol. Not sure how accurate that is though

Hi All,
I need a monitor for my '97 E39 - its a 4:3 and i need the monitor part only as mine has given up the ghost. Will consider full headunit if you don't want to seperate.
Cheers
Sam

E39 Monitor/Radio:
My boardmonitor is Fubared i think - was working intermittently, but now not at all. So i took it out to compress the ribbon cable connectors etc - no joy. While i did this, i unplugged the tape deck unit while the radio was going, and the radio kept going ok with no boardmonitor for a little while. Then it just simply cut out? Now with it all back together, when i try and turn the radio/cd/tape unit on, the orange LED just flashes once, and nothing goes. Any ideas?
EDIT:
Pulling fuse 56 for an hour or so seems to have done the trick.

In Melbourne at the moo. In the last 24 hours I've seen a Gallardo vert, 2x 458's a number of m3's, an Eleanor replica nailing it up Russell st, a quattroporte, and been for a couple of rides in a B7 S4.

I had my eye on those mirrors you scored too! I prefer genuine where possible, especially since the rest of the kit is.

Cheers mate, years working on Subarus have got me used to fiddly jobs. Just glad the m52 is single vanos!
