  1. Just sounds like to me that your monitor is fubared. Mine did similar weird sh*t before it stopped working all together. All its sweet in my world after shelling out a small fortune for a new monitor and head unit. Beware of you get an e38 one you will need to swap the fascia so your trim fits

  2. Its not too bad high up, no distortion or rattling bass. Pretty happy with it!

I have 4 speakers and I "think" 6 tweeters. (2 speakers in front door, 2 on back tray, 4 tweeters up the front and 2 in rear door)

How hard is wiring in sub/amp for it? Mm have to weigh up loss of boot space, which could be a problem with a toddler and prams etc.

2 tweeters up front, two mids up front, 2 bass driver up front, 2 tweeters in the rear, and two bass drivers in parcel shelf.

Least I think that's the set up, not sure why they would need 4 tweeters up front, although I agree the grills are all small

  3. After attempting a fluid change on a broken e34 540 trans, with the car on stands, I swore I'd pay someone to do it next time. It's messy, it's smelly, and tbh for the sake of a couple of hundy, much better left to a pro with a hoist and a proper flush machine. Also this way you know you have replaced all old fluid in one shot.

  4. E39 Monitor/Radio:

My boardmonitor is Fubared i think - was working intermittently, but now not at all. So i took it out to compress the ribbon cable connectors etc - no joy. While i did this, i unplugged the tape deck unit while the radio was going, and the radio kept going ok with no boardmonitor for a little while. Then it just simply cut out? Now with it all back together, when i try and turn the radio/cd/tape unit on, the orange LED just flashes once, and nothing goes. Any ideas?

    EDIT:

Pulling fuse 56 for an hour or so seems to have done the trick.
