  1. Couple of issues: 1. Weird electrical issues when ign set to on. Rev counter goes nuts even though engine not running, headlight adjusters cycling through each setting and injectors pulsing. I'm thinking faulty ign switch, but have no other symptoms. Thoughts?

    2. Tried to start car before and it backfired in manifold and blew the cap for the ccv valve off. So need to replace ccv valve now. Could this be caused by issue 1? Im thinking excess fuel caused by injectors pulsing etc causing backfire?

  2. When he said new engine that is what it is. Brand new ex Germany along with all manual components. There is no comparison to the 11k Hamilton car. In a different league entirely.

    The only comparison I was drawing to the Hamilton car, was simply that there was another 540i manual motorsport on trade me, and that his clearly wasn't the only one in the country as claimed in the ad.

    It might be a fantastic car, but until the details were highlighted by yours truly, no one here was any the wiser. Nor could you expect them to be.


  3. E39 528 with the jap spec gm trans. Weird issue that seems to present itself mostly in D. Cruising at 100ish k, Rpm sitting around 2k, squeeze the throttle and car starts to accelerate. Then the revs drop about by about 300 rpm, and there's no power? You then have to trigger the lockdown to get anything out of it. Car has new vanos seals and coming system and goes very well otherwise. Well get it scanned at some point, but does any one have any ideas?
