  1. Awesome dude - am looking foward to seeing how this goes. A nice thick alloy radiator should be on the cards too as well as an oil cooler (if it doesnt have factory), 1x bucket seat, 2x good front tires. Save the rest of your cash for tires, gas, track fee's and maintainence! One of my favourite E30 drifters if your interested /Edit And this ones pretty good too
  2. Cheers mate! Yeah I definately like the look of the FL ones better. But for $900 you cant be too picky Haha no way! Handling > Rice/asthetics But at this stage I can't justify $700+ for a gold plated factory E30 LSD (at least i'd hope it would be gold plated for that price!) I guess demand and avalibility dictate price on these for you guys. And besides lockers really aren't that bad. I daily drove one all last year. PS - You know i'm totally down for those stickers!
  3. Needs R33 GTR wheels. Current wheels dont do it justice. Worked on a similar conversion with my old boss. What a mission. Looks tight though.
  4. Haha not with the way that D1NZ is thesedays. Lip I believe is off a PFL E30... RJS hates it. Will however probably take the car along to a meremere cone day once I get an LSD. Either that or buy another open and lock it.
  5. Few more pics to finish off the arvo. Fitted and aligned both guards, finished fixing & replacing nearly all the little interior things I had to do. Though I still need to sort out the inner and outer gear boots. I also dropped my battery at a friends to get charged and the spoiler at anothers to see how fesible my modified wing idea is. Time for more panadol and discovery channel I think.
  6. Woke up this morning with no intention of working on the car. Except for when I got up I had this spilitting headache and some nice bloodshot eyes. Thanks conjunctivitis you f**k. So I decided to start on making all the new bits fit the old bent ones. Bumper and grill is all on and nice and straight now, front guards finally sit flush (still need to bolt back down and roll) I also swapped in the vents and other trim bits that i painted. Photos look like my garage has exploded with tools, parts and foam! I even mocked up the wheel so you guys can get an idea of what shes going to look like. And another shot of the disco lights from yesterday evening:
  7. Definately dude. Touge style photoshoot - no fancy buildings or sunsets for us! Haha and congratulations on resolving the sunken battleship syndrome
  8. $140 - comes with genuinely fake looking OMP badge I had the exact same one in my last car, except for the spokes were silver instead of black. It lasted really well, and I liked the seating position the offset wheel gave me.
  9. Thanks for the comment mate! It's been a while since ive updated this thread - I am still really waiting on the suspension to slap it all back together.. The HID's are in, I've sorted a few electrical niggles, tided some wiring loom, and removed all of the sound deadening from the boot. 8000k ebay crap Disco Fever - lights need serious alignment. Steering Wheel finally arived - need bosskit to fit. I swore i'd never do it again and look what im doing! Started removing the gunk this arvo but have since put this job in the cbf'd basket for the moment /Edit - PS the battery is flat... I left the door open the other night. BMW Fail. Thanks for viewing, Matt
  10. Lightning... REAL LIGHTNING! Top link reminds me of
  11. SOLD - Pending payment. Mtech1 Steering wheel - $50ono Black, leather, good nick, makes the EDM girls go "WOW" 021 172 7782
  12. Hey mate cheers for quick the response. Yeah I definately noticed that the sump does hang quite low on the 30's. Will check out your car. Thanks!
  13. Hi lads, Anyone happen to know the lowest structual part on the E30's off the top of their head? Pics of ride heights & clearance would be awesome - need to get an idea of how low I can go without upsetting Jhonny law. Before someone says it - Yes I've searched but all I found was posts with worthless dribble. Looking to run similar fitment to below:

Awesome looking build mate! But why two intercoolers? Seems quite unnecessary with a GT35R. Remember all that space takes time to fill up and time constitutes as turbo lag. Mind you its not going to be too bad seeing as the turbo is BB and your not exactly shy on the displacement side. Cant wait for the videos! Keep it coming.
  15. Cheers Antony but thats not what rack spacers do. Rack spacers will give you deeper steering angles with the added turns lock to lock. I think generally speaking for grip racing you want less turns with the steering wheel which is why you guys wont be familar with this mod.. And why the E36 steering rack swap is so common. Steering speed remains unchanged, your effectively lengthening the total tierod+end length which at full lock pushes the wheel out further.. Writeup Obviously you can buy branded "rack spacers" But I've never had any issues with good quality washers. You do have to be sensible about the size of the washer. Less is better in this case, as you will run out of thread and the inside wheel can violently start to wobble at full lock when sideways. (imagine tierod+end in a straight line with the hub) /Edit I need to pull apart the rest of the steering to confirm its feisable. But I dont see it being any different to my previous cars.
  16. Cheers mate - you have PM! Update on parts: HID's 8000k - Got pricing - Will purchase next week 2x SP Sportmax 195/50/16's - Waiting on more pricing - Suggestions of other tires welcome. Spacers - Got pricing - Will purchase next week Longer BMW Studs - Hopefully LOWNER can sort out half of these! DIY bits: Suspension: Rack spacers - I may get a mate to fashion some of these. In the drifting world these are used to increase steering angle, effectively giving you more turns lock to lock. Sounds simple, but damn do they work! Wing: I still have the factory 325i wing in my possession which im thinking about extending it a little more with some fiberglass. E30 diet: I'll probably get around to pulling all the sound deadening out this week or the next.. I know it sounds rather counter intuitive doing this before interior. But im seriously struggling to keep all this interior in!.. I've just gotta pull something out! Guards, I started folding the lips up on the rear guards the other day. I'll be borrowing my friends guard roller to complete the flare. Parts still to sort out (most of these are currently dictated by money) Steering wheel - Probably get another one of these: Interior gear boot pieces Air filter & adaptor - Generic K&N pod filter etc. Chequered floor mats - Everyone knows you need these - Straight outta' Osaka! LSD/BMWBRO spec Stay tuned! Matt
  17. Looking bang'n bro! It looks like we may end up having very similar looking cars haha... +1 for Interior pics if you can. /Edit - PS what suspension are you running & any idea on how much tire to guard clearance you have? Cheers! Matt
  18. Hahaha cheers mate, very sneaky. Whats the stud length with 10mm spacers on? ie do you have to rock longer studs or is there enough thread with the factory ones? Cheers
  19. Sure do Creaver. Glad I am keeping some people entertained! Matt
  20. Monday update: We got the waterpump and cambelt installed. However it looks like the fan is fouling a tad on the radiator (damn Whangarei spec body mods) The tappets also need adjusting. So hopefully by the weekend we should have all the engine noises sorted and have her running nice and healthy. I also had my friend push the R/R wheel bearing in for me. At the same time I cleaned up the RLCA a tad. Picked up my rear tires for the new wheels from JiB - mmmm streach And Melowpuf pointed out that Sally had 3 humps - A long range fuel tank apparently! /Edit Oh and almost forgot to say thanks again to JiB for letting me steal a few pieces of trim from his race car. Cheers mate!
  21. Cheers Cam. Speaking of knobs - I've also got a pretty sweet looking gear knob
  22. Thanks to melowpuf's help we got most of the cambelt and waterpump swap done today, only being stopped short with him having to leave to pick up another car. This suited me fine as the afternoon was too nice to not start drinking early! We also pulled out the remainder of my airconditioning and I cleaned and painted a few bits here and there, as well as having quick tidy of the engine bay loom. Cleaned and painted. As new! Cleaned up and flushed old radiator. Fresh! Even the stars need lubing.. Apparently. Clean cambelt cover! Goodbye heavy non-functioning aircon! Still waiting on the suspension to arrive. ETA is 2 weeks - which gives me enough time to sort out the shifter, tires, and the few bits of interior trim that im lacking.
  23. Ah thanks for that mate & just for the record Ford made PLENTY of great cars. Unfornately the Taurus wasnt one of them in my books! You guys take things pretty seriously for a JDM E30 build on an internet forum ...
  24. Back on topic: Quick question for you E30 geeks - Do E30's run horrizontally opposed ABS? Reason I ask is the front left wheel bearing kit has an ABS ring and sensor coming from the wheel well. The front right that ive been give also comes with an ABS ring, but no sensor from the wheel well. I suspect they've given me the wrong wheel bearing kit.
