  1. Free bump for Mark Herberts work. He did the half cage in my last car, awesome quality.
  2. I think pricing is quite subjective to the shop you go to. Still. Imagine, your 17.. Your first car, you want to do things legitimately. You can only afford to do a few mods at single time (if that) but you still want to drive your only car and stay current with the laws.. Thats one hell of a cost your looking at.. And our government isnt doing anything to encourage that "Do it right" attitude. The government and the media are caught up in the Battle/War/Terror (subsitute your flavoured expression) against boy racing. You could effectively stop all the exhaust problems before they hit the road. Certifiers have the correct equipment.. Cops have their "ears" and the words "Sufficiently louder than factory" /edited for my special spelling haha
  3. This. But make it more accessible to the greater public. Have the certifiers sort the problem BEFORE it hits the streets... Make mandatory cert checks every 6 months on modified cars. Fu*k.. I’d spend another half hour every 6 months at a testing station if I was harassed less on the road. I've been driving a friend’s car home from the pub when we were pulled by the boys in blue. We were then taken aside and "schooled" on the officers profound, ultimate and unsurpassable knowledge of "adjustable suspension" (read: aftermarket springs in factory struts) and incorrect automobile ride height (read: aftermarket side skirts) This overzealous officer eventually succumbed to my dashing good looks and charming wit and he let us off with no more than a warning - A warning about the extreme and imminent danger of car modification.. (fail) The cops don’t know half of the law when it comes to car modifications.. This officer got out of the car with a block of wood and tried to explain to me that fiberglass sideskirts were the lowest structural point of the car and were under the 100mm limit.… Take the power from the police and give it to the cert guys, guys who live and breathe cars, guys with the knowledge and the experience to not only make the mods legal.. but to make them safe for all the motorists. Free up police resource so that they can concentrate on some of the real issues out there.. IMO - Everything is wrong with the current cert system. My last cert was just under $400. Now it seems retarded that I have to pay another $400 if I continue modifying (seriously who ever stops..) Surely you want to encourage the youth to do the right thing by making it easier (read: less expensive and more thought out) to obtain the right credentials. Either that or deport the boy racers to Siberia. From Russia with love bitches..
  4. Yeah Erick is rad - he's sending me some Fullopp stickers!
  5. How the hell did i miss that! Cheers mate!
  6. Hahaha.. It wasnt meant to be "amazing". Just thought I'd post because you dont see that many E30's drifting in the USA. Also See title: "Eric Hagens DRIFT E30 (Do Work)" .. Not "show" If you dont like it.. Dont post sunshine!
  7. Hi BS - have a recent photo! I need a new shifter. My short shifter fouls on the driveshaft -> gearbox coupling (any suggestions of what shifter I could run what works?) See pic for unbeatable MS paint skill. Other than that shes pretty much ready for a wof. I think the power steering is leaking though..

    JiB's POS

Sicker than Aids dude! Red bumper, green cage, better offset wheels.. your car just keeps getting better.
  9. Eric Hagens BMW E30 drifter Click me!
  10. Haha i'd be keen for a race. I would need to borrow another steering wheel though. I used to drive those 320 E21's with the crazy aero packages back when I had it installed.
  11. Looks good - is that Rfactor?
  12. Chicks dig scars.. Build is looking good though mate, keep the updates coming!

    Apexi SAFC/NEO

Haha indeed it is.. We used them to correct AFR's (as best we could without a dyno) when we couldnt afford a fully fledged aftermarket ECU. IMO it doesnt makes sense financially when nowadays you can pick up a 2nd hand Link, Motec or whatever your flavor for easily under a grand and do 4 times as much.. No idea what he wants it for tho!

    1996 740i for sale

    Apexi SAFC/NEO

Apexi V/SAFC's give you the ability to adjust the amount of fuel that the ECU injects into the engine by alterting the signal from the AFM to the ECU. They also show things like RPM, TP and battery voltage..
  16. Sounds alright. My rule for good fitment is you make the wheels fit the car. Im sure you wont have much issue fitting that. Got any current pics?
  17. I don't know what you guys call "stretch" but for 8.5's and 9.5's my idea of sensible stretch is: 215's on the front & 225's on the back. 30-35's size side profiles all around
  18. Yep Is interesting to see that they've used pretty standard looking internal wastegates instead of some flashy Variable Geometry stuff / Variable vane / whatever you want to call it. /Edit - The twin FPR's and rather short plumbing is awesome.. Drool..
  19. Cheers lads! Funnily enough I managed to track one down and get it bolted up to the car last night Thanks for all your help
  20. .... I thought he meant that he'd photoshopped it to show his plans.. Bahaha
  21. Not a bad photoshop. Seriously though.. a 350 chev?
  22. Hey mate, Having just adjustable height in the front of a drift car seems kind of pointless. IMO I would have shelled out on a full set of coilovers with adjustable height, damper, front castor and camber. Don't skimp money by buying average parts or going ghetto on the most important thing in a drift car... If money is an issue, I would put what you have together and take it to a track day. If you are unsure of how a properly setup drift car should handle - get one of the regulars to take it for a quick lap or head along to drift school and get their thoughts. Hell the Koni's and kings may just be a perfect combination to learn in.. There are too many "Mean drifta" builds that only get to the hardparking stage. Don't become part of the growing majority! Get out there with what you have. Upgrade as you go..
  23. Yep will definitely be keeping the old wheels for that purpose Cheers mate. Haha I guess I figured that raising the car on the jackstands so I could properly get at the inner rings would take about the same time as using the angle grinder with but more physical effort.. Lazyness FTW Thanks buddy. I'm not really sure the guards on E30's need to be flared that much at all.. Time will tell!
  24. Tyre tread outside the wheel arch is a warrent fail But yeah, some guard work wont be far off. I just need to sort this bosskit then I can get a better idea of the steering angles. Thanks mate!
