Relisted. cheap cheap!

There's the magwarehouse 30DET on the shore also, and "ashy" on here has a 25DET iirc.
Oh come on! throw me a bone! Fine, NZ's first RB25DE+T in an E30
Oh look, a new video from the amazing Will Roegge and Joshua Herron!

His voice screams 80's porn.
Nice find bro!

And here I was thinking these were forged in the fires of Mt Fuji!

Just to sh*t on your lovely parade, I know a guy who RB30DET'ed his E30.. BUT I have never seen it running, so you still might be able to claim that haha
Haha yeah there was a guy with a RB30 down in hamilton. However, nothing along the lines of a hybrid bolt on NA (as far as I'm aware of)

How do you find the handling + ride of the BCs versus the H&R spring/shock combo you had before?
What was the price of the BCs? PM me if you like.
Terribly tempted to RB25DE+T the e30 next holidays. 2JZ-GE+T would be nice too, but finding the manifolds and turbo gear might prove a bit harder.
Similar to what my S14 was, pretty agressive. I grabbed the BC's 2nd hand for $1200
Two RB25DE+T E30's! You could pretty safely say they would be the only two!
Guys want more for the 2JZ-GE stuff than the RB gear. RB turbos/manifolds & oil lines can be had for about $300 +/- $50 whereas the 2JZ stuff is normally a couple of hundred more.
A 2JZ E30 would be amazing though... (hint. Do it.)
/Edit totally went off on a tangent..
Comparing the H&R's
The H&R's were awesome, rode lower than most shock & spring combos but not stupid low. Sat nice and firm, but not bouncy and best of all they were totally legal. For what I wanted at the time they were perfect.

Self plug time!
Drop me a line if any of this takes your fancy

P.S.
Dear MitchE30,
I took multiple days off work when we arranged times to collect the goods. Hell, I even offered to deliver them for free... If you dont have the cash, just say it bro.

Those VSKF style ones would be cool if they were bigger and had a half decent offset.
Needs 19's. Work Meister S1 3P please..
Silver or white, no black centres.

Absolutely love this thread. Makes me glad I didn't take the plunge and buy a Tech II kit. Still waiting for my IS front lip to arrive from SA. Grr.
There was a 2JZ-GE on trademe for $500. I wonder if anyone has had any experience +T-ing them? I imagine it'd be a torque monster
Cheers dudes.
Part of me wanted to keep it all BMW, do something along the lines of a turbo M20b25 but after reading countless threads I felt no-one ever really got one running reliably with the power I’m after (and without spending $$) for more than 12 months.
NZ is also flooded by Japanese parts which is great because it makes the entry price for this kind of bolt on build fairly cheap and achievable.

Bad assery. Nisarn gbox + custom driveshaft?
Roger that + custom engine & box mounts.
Have stumbled onto a few RB E30's and E36's.
IMO it has to still be one of the most cost effective hybrid powerplants. Magic hp/$ ratio!
2JZ would be nice. But $$
-
You also have to remember that they are deisgned for a purpose. D2's were (are) not designed for track use. They are designed as a street application, but primarily got a bad rep from people using them for drifting on the track.
Well said.

Boosted? Mattzy? E30?
I are very excite.
Indeed. Hi! Victory.
The plan is to +T an RB25DE.
Have done several of these and have friends with ROM burning and tuning software.
Power goal is a responsive 220rwkw.
Will need just the basics really:
FMIC, EBC, 3" dump/exhaust, standard 25det turbo/manifold, S14k's injectors, f/pump.
Just collecting parts at this stage as I intend to be in and out of this country through the middle of this year.
-
Fair call, I was thinking d2's were also Taiwanese. But BC have way better rep, unlike d2's.
Ground controls do infact cost close to the $3000 after shipping, then GST once they get in the country, then welding install. All adds up very fast..
For sure dude. I'd personally still stray away from D2's if buying 2nd hand, going by friends experiences the adjusters break and the original design was weak. Had a friend's S14 snap the main tube at puke (back in '06)

Buy and fund my new project (and addiction to travel!)
-
Just spotted this! Happy birthday dude
-
BC's are also Taiwanese, and I have used them in several of my cars with no problems. Hell, I even used 2nd hand ones in my S14 and they took a beating.
I haven’t heard of anyone in NZ using XYZ, but their website seems to suggest they follow ISO 9001 which means they at least have some form of quality control.
From what I remember GC and IE are around the 3k mark. (someone chime in here)
So I guess your budget will really determine what works for you.
Don’t be put off by the fanboys. Make sure the kit is complete with C spanners and adjusters and you'll be fine. Contrary to what people believe you can actually build a car that’s fun and cheap!
PS - Remember to budget installation (If they need to be welded - best to speak with certifier prior) and the appropriate certification.
(hides and waits for rage)

Car looked great out their last week. Very consistent.
I'm pretty sure I got some sweet photos of it too!

Awesometron5000

Oops, forgot to mention that this also comes with the oil cooler and associated lines

Would you sell gearbox on it's own? I want a spare.
PS sorry if auction says no, can't get onto TM from here.
Kinda keen to get rid of it all sorry bro. Someone must be keen on a spare motor.
Will let you know if someone wants just the engine though!
