well if your mate said it it must be true judging by the factual nature of your posts I have no doubt the company you keep is equally trustworthy

type r's are stupidly awesome. It is impossible to not have a massive grin on your face when you hit VTEC and rev the f**ker out to 8.5k.
-
Hahahaha oh that's right. I completely forgot how retarded you are. Booked that one way plane ticket yet?

Nice work. I enjoy your facebook updates. That seems like huge power atw. Is it all in the tune?

What are you spending the remaining $4.797m on?.. Therapy and Prozac?

Go somewhere far removed for a month to consider my options. Then hopefully arrive at something like this: Pay off student loan - $30k Racing car of some description $50k Late model euro of some description, probably an f10 m5 or 550d. Maybe even a maserati quattroporte or whatever the new one is called. $100-$150k Travel/ski until I get bored of it $100k Bank $500k on call and the remaining $3.5m in term deposit. Finally I would speculate the remaining $500k in financial markets. I would continue renting until house prices/rents normalize. No point buying a $1.5m house in Auckland that nets maybe 2% p.a. - some other sucker can take the other side of that trade. I would quit my job and try my best to keep the winnings secret/formulate a really good cover story. I would tip good customer service people with Rutherfords.

Just pulled the thing apart. Notice the broken mount. I believe this is putting the central locking mechanism out of alignment and causing the issue. The latch mechanism itself is working perfectly - the only time it wont latch is when its fixed in place. So I need a replacement handle/lock mechanism like this (sorry for crap image): Very glad I bought a Bentley service manual a while back. Mate this job much smoother. If anyone local or otherwise can help please let me know. 0274977188

I failed a wof 6 months ago on lower control arm bushes. From memory they knew the exact fault and highlighted the worn bush with a marker. Failure is a likely cause of the shudder

Where's the money going to come from? How much more fuel/income tax are you prepared to cough up?

Looking for a reliable daily driver. Must be manual & in North Island $2000-$3000 budget

Cheers I'll give that a go on the weekend. It's gonna be a cold week commuting on the moped

I have never come close to crashing due to the condition of the road. Any of the remotely hairy situations I have been in are either my own or someone elses doing. If you're on a sh*t road drive as though you are. NZ drivers are much more dangerous and frustrating than the roads.

The e34's latest niggly issue is the drivers door wont close shut The latching hook (connection in the door) has no resistance and will not hold. Any ideas?

Good start here: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/car-suspension.htm

As a function of the purchase price it is. But hey, why worry about depreciation when Mummy and Daddy cover it right! Right!? LOL Tool.

These same tired (jealous) arguments seem to come up in every new BMW thread. If you want a car that is dynamically the same as an e30 then buy an e30. This is one of the rare occasions I agree Clarkson - the m4 is really the ultimate all round car. The e92 m3 was also lauded by dozens of independent motoring journos for being the perfect, do everything car. Your posts are terribly difficult to read. And be honest though. In your m235i you would only have a gut wrenching feeling of inferiority with this filling your rear view mirror:
-
Energy consumption is an exponential function of speed - not linear as you have assumed.
-
I like it. I'm still not used to the idea or sound of a turbo on an M car but that will change in time. It's lighter than the e46 m3 though.

pretty cheap to look pretty important these days

My bridgestones are about 8 years old and have similar cracking. Despite being close to worn out the tyres have plenty of wet and dry grip. Shitloads more than any brand new cheap (sub $150) tyre I've ever used. Are they perfect? No. Are they safe? Yes. If they were kingstars I would bin them but a decent brand will be fine.
