Just go to Clayton's or McMillan's. A new gear-knob should be around $150 + GST, If you want an M knob, add another hundred $$. Or ask Gus, he might still have my old 6 speed M.
-
Well, there you go. I've learnt something for the day. An Automatic E28 M6. Not interested, that's so un-M.
-
Has the nice little ///M that he painted on the Intercooler gone. That was a nice touch. David was concerned about being passed by him down the back straight of Pukekohe. Until he looked under the bonnet. No, it was built properly. I had a great time watching it evolve. Swiss Engineering!

The Nikasil block was never an issue in NZ. I am unsure about Australia, but I don't think it was. Kiwi 535 may be able to shed some light on that. Or go and look at the 540LE group on Yahoo, the discussion may have been had there. We've had ours from new and it's been driven, from daily driver, towing race cars and racing. Never had an issue with the motor. 183km nearly on the clock now.

If I was going to go for a 535 or the like, then I'd go with the E28 as it is a lighter car (and attractive in it's own way). The E34 is a better all round car, as the E39 is better again. But you're paying extra for each evolution. Our 540 will deliver 9.5l/100km on the open road and around 12.5-13.0l/100km around town. For a 1680kg car, I'm pretty happy with that. As far as the price premium for the 540. I would think that is coming back due to the perceived petrol issues with the larger motor. I couldn't comment on the economy of the Auto 540's. To get a manual 540, double your 4-5k and you'll be getting closer. Still only 4-5 in the country that I know of. Cheapest one I've seen go was $18k, and it wasn't all that tidy. If you're in Auckland, get in touch and you can take ours for a spin. But, if you get a good model of any of those cars, E28 or E34, you'll love them.

Sorry, what? Are you saying to use something like imageshack post pictures on the site? I'm Electrical, not a binary head. You'll need to give me a better description. Thanks.

If you are going to the effort of buying a BMW V8, skip the 530 and get the 540. Parts are not a lot different in price. You may as well get the power of the real 5 series engine.

The Airbagged one is BUMPX2. It used to be a nice car. Photo taken on Roberta Ave. Right up there with that M3 that Conrod found in England.
-
Good to see they put all the good Carbon Fibre bits on it, before they amped it up. I'm the weight is still the same. Heavily modified, my arse. Still only got 343hp.

Try the pleasure of a 5 Series.
-
Come up with another $10k and I might consider swapping you a 6 speed.

No. The E30 320iS is the 2nd best E30. As it has an S14, it is also a twin cam. Details here: http://www.bmwe21.net/320is/ The E30 318iS is a great little car, it is underpowered, but handles like a dream.

http://www.control4.com/ And the latest one in the market.
-
I'm unsure, you'd need to look at an M Coupe or Roadster. They would be the most likely to have one.
-
Already have the M5 one. A nice red glow in the car. $255 from BMW to replace the original one The picture is of the old one.
-
Very nice car. Welcome. Remember to join the boys (and men) in the Wellington region for a beer and drive sometime. Always great to see different models.

A 'restraint of trade' clause in your contract is easy to get around in a niche industry. No-one can exclude you from getting a job. I'd advise them I was off to the competition. If you have no customer contact, then they have no incentive to get rid of you. You can only disrupt internal staff. You can leave without giving notice, just don't expect to be paid any outstanding monies owed to you or your holiday pay. If the new salary (or you don't care) will offset this loss, then just politely advise them, work out the week, if they want and go. Oh, if they pay you 2 weeks in arrears, 2 weeks in advance. You will need to work the time they have paid you for, or give them the money back.

http://www.googleidol.com/ Nothing to do with it, but it is the Grand Final. Get on and vote.

Bad luck Cam. I hope you have it going again soon.

Pull the starter motor out and slap 12V (preferably a battery due to current needed). If it cranks, it's not that. As an AA member, I'd call them and say it won't start and let them diagnose it for you.

Common in all BMW's. Does the switch still work? i.e. when you push the button, can you hear it click. If so, the mechanism has seized. Not always permanently. You can pull the door apart and lube it up. Otherwise, replace the mechanism.

Three options Call Richard @ DCH Motorsport Call Graeme Clyde or try Christchurch BMW. Best suggestions I can make.

Well, have a look at these guys. http://www.ubd-online.co.nz/tealovers/ This is where I get all my coffees near work. They also take orders over the internet and ship to retail and private customers. Customer service is what it's all about. The product is fairly irrelevant.

There was a copy of the regs in the last Dixi magazine. For a better idea, I'd show up at the BMWCC AGM at BMW Mt Wellington this Thursday as the race series will be a topic of discussion. But, yes you will be able to start a racing career in this series.

Normally, I'll go to a cafe rather than making a cup myself. But I normally import ground coffee to have at home for when visitors come.
