my condolenses buddy, is there any folds in the roof or are the doors out of allignment ? the doors open fine i take it and theres no damage to the sills ? Andy

yup - standard 4 speed auto - sometimes the gears are worn and you have sorta a winding / rattly noise when in 4th gear. The only way to check is getting upto about 80 - 100km/h then letting off accelerator or slightly accelerating.

- check 4th gear for any noises= worn gearbox - check for towing eye (often missing), wheel brace and jack - locks on glovebox not fungled. - fan works on all 4 settings - rust behind fusebox - under battery tray - in firewall. - water in the wheel wells - check no clunks in the auto - when you put handbrake on in gear - whether it lurches to one side once it moves down - handbrake needs adjustment. - check all windows go up and down - sometimes they come off there rails or dont function properly. Also handles break so easily with manual winders so just check. - check for crackles in the speakers.. they do lose touch after that sorta time. - check the car doesnt track to the side of the road if you let go of the wheel. - rust inside the seams of the boot .. (inside of car.. you cnat see it on the outside). - splits in the seals can lead to rust due to them using aheasive to hold them down. - check bonnet strut to make sure it holds the bonnet up. - check for noises at the front of the engine - worn camshaft sucks bollocks . - send it in to get checked - check engine compresisons (remember this engine is 2 years older than you Emma) - brakes - tyres etc. even if he is your boss you should get this done anyway. - check foglights for cracks - check temp gauge sits on or slightly below midway. -when you first start the car - make sure all the dash lights come on .. if not they have had hte bulbs taken out of them or are blown and may require servicing. - check there is not excess play in the front seats - they have a stiff upright position.. and dont flex forward on one side (broken frame - common on two doors - possible on 4 doors) - check fuel flap - rusty ? fuel cap secure - not a unversal locable one. - check oil cap is not cracked or breaking if you try to take it off. Check for carbon buildup on the inside.

Hi guys - i bought a BMW badge off trademe that doesnt fit my car. the guy claimed it would fit a facelift e30 but sadly his guess was wrong. looks very much brand new - like the other guy bought it but never used it due to not fitting. Part No. BMW 51.14-8 219 237 diameter 75mm Paid $30 asking $30 back. I think they've about $55 from stealer. Cheers Andy

dont they have extra chrome trim that hte facelifts dont. edit - they sure do guys. Extra chrome trim around the windows.

Not sure what size the diff is .. small / medium. most of the rear end is there incl subframe, drum brakes and trailing arms etc. Brake lines have been hax0red. No springs but shocks included. Is missing a few nuts @ the top of both which were given to $190 pickup only please. trademe next week.

front brake rotors are worn. Generally if they're worn in the front - you'll feel the vibrations through the steering wheel and if they're worn in the back you'll feel it through the seat. Thats generally how it works - despite being reasonably new they could be warped from getting to hot. If its only when braking then i think that narrows it down a fair bit as to what it could be. yeah will just be the bulbs - generally people take them out as a quick fix option when selling.. pain in the arse I know.. thats why it pays to check they all light up when you starti t. The check engine can sometimes function on off constantly so alot of people dont replace this one.

Hey Ducatiss need to specify model and size of engine its going to be bolted onto. I'm told they make like 12 different versions of the Getrag 240. Graham has a gearbox conversion kit for a E30 320i (will also fit 325 I believe) and I have one that will fit a 316/8 that I am not sure whether I'll definately be selling jsut yet. Cheers Andy

The conversion kit is not 100% for sale but looking for offers to get an idea of interest right now. M40 B18 engine that was said to be reconditioned - compressions 185 180 175 180 and servce history. Looking for offers over $500. Both items were from a 1990 E30 316i NZ New (1.8L edition). Sometimes the position of your chair can effect whether you hit hte brakepedal sweetly or not. Having your chair too close and having knees bent can sometimes cause hitting the accel. pedal while braking.

sure am, need to get rid of these 14's.. main reason for that comment was I just get angry when I bid on an auction and its pulled at some random time because someones made an offer outside of trademe which subsequently would have been outbid if it was left on trademe. Have missed out on 2 perfect E30 series cars which one went for $400 less than what I was prepared to pay all because the owner was offered 'cash' to pull the auciton before finishing despite it having reached the reserve.. lol offering cash doesnt make things any easier.. people just assume.. I'll give you $100 cash now, how is that going to be any different from giving them say $100 deposited into there bank accoutn a couple of days later.. doesnt change a hell of alot.

Hi, Your race services seem to be more helper orientated.. would you have the time / experience / tools to be able to help install koni's / kings. Not sure what route I'll take so far, may just get the race guys to install it while its in the shop. also will be looking into manual conversion at some stage. Cheers Andy

look on the bright side.. if you can mod it to fit (which would be a pain in the arse) .. you'd have a nearly full Mtech 1 kit on your facelift car which is relatively unheard of.... but you wouldnt be able to use your iS lip on either mtech 1 / 2
