firstly - Not that it really matters but pretty disappointed, by the looks of it this will be the only practical time you would really consider looking at putting a manual box it because your taking it all out anyway(dont worry you'll have another shot in 6months). I never realised there were so many excuses not to go manual lol. If you think the cops are gonna pwn you just think.. they'll love you more lowered on chrome mags. putting in another auto isnt necessarly ognna fix the problem, its just gonna doctor it, its a general fact that the auto boxes last generally around 150(175?),000km's before you need to start looking at reconditioning them before they pwn you. Your better off reconditioning or sticking in a manual gearbox because your probably gonna burn out this one too in around the given time frame you pwned hte other one (what 6months) ? this will end up saving you money with the way your currently driving not to mention the savings on gas as they are quite a bit more economical in manual i would have thought. Your itching for more performance with your chips thread and performance gains thread, your've got the opportunatey sitting right here in front of you ... take your opportunatys or be stuck with the sluggish 318 auto performance forever lol. Hope you didnt take any offense by this post (just slightly frustrated by your decision .. ahh well).

just so you know.. out of all the 3 series.. as far as i know the 320i has the worst fuel economy of the lot.

you do realise these are for an E30 here and are 4 stud not 5 stud.

my bad, ahh well they're all M20's .. NZ dollar keeps going down. . gas going up .. better off buying things now.. they will have doubled in price next year.

because your buying second hand parts, that arent noted written on paper and all word of mouth I dont know you'd be able to put up anything against them. If anything the consumer guarentees act should step in, as you we're mislead. Maybe a case for Fair-Go lol !

approx $450 for gearbox conversion kit, $70 for new gearknob / shift boot, theres a piece that goes on your diff that you'll have to price up.. should be less than $100, new bushings if you want. Then add labour on top of that, whether you get someoen to help or pay someone to do it.

firstly would pay to check your transmission fluid if you havent already done so. Recond' gearbox I believe costs something along the lines of $1000+ Otherwise you could find another sl-auto box for around $3-4 hundy from some wrecker but then u gotta pay for installation on top. Ring up your mechanic and see who they would recommend to take a look at it and give you the verdict. Realistically if your ever gonna think about doing a manual conversion, now would be the most practical time to do it. Grab a manual gearbox conversion kit for $400-500 odd and around $150 worth of brand new parts. Not really too expensive, quite possibly your cheaper option ... and im sure people around here would be willing to help you if you provided the drink.

its an E30 M3 with aftermarket wheels. Has rear boot spoiler, wide body fenders.

I'm looking into it, but I believe I've found a supplier overseas that would be willing to import a few should we want a group buy. Firstly whose done this before ... I've got 2 sets of bumpers here right now and I'm looking at colour coding one set for daily and re-surfacing some scuffs / painting the other set as it has a few blemishes or rather minor scuffs etc from previous owners professional touch parking. The 2nd set will be for track use. Did you DIY or get it professionally done ? What are the costs involved. Any specific type of paint addidive that should be used ? Cheers Andy
