  1. yep i use mothers just cos carl uses that other stuff!I think MOST car washes ares wax safe..dishwash liquid will strip your wax off,do that a couple of weeks before show and shinewash again with proper car wash, clay bar, polish.glaze ,wax and wax again..i reckon that would take at least one whole day!!!!And of course you really need a garage cos you cant polish and wax in the sun(or rain)he next day you can do the wheels, tyres, black trim, and the interior......phew

  2. i.e in theory, mine will do 14.3 for 400m and 24.7 to 1km.

what do you mean in theory Cain???Obviously the second 600 m passes quicker than the first 400 cos at the end of the 400 you are already doing 160 and prolly just changed into fourth....what is the top speed at 1000m?

where do those figures come from.?...I know what you mean about the 5 tho the feeling i get is the performance envelope for my car is aimed at 140-200....and thats for an engine first plonked into a car what.....1960 something????I think it would definetly wind out to 230-240 or so

  3. and with 18s which are almost certainly heavier than standard it will be even slower... .Dont worry i mean the speed limit is 100 ks and anything over 120 is asking for it....a lot of roads even 100 is too fast. Its your car so dont worry what us anal bimmer freaks think, just think though about the real world, you dont want to be scraping your bodywork on speed humps kerbs(sometimes you have to drive over kerbs) etc,so dont go REALLY low...my 2c ....enjoy your new car

  4. thats where carl last tested his tyres hahahaha,no the bank came down during all that rain we had one week a little while ago, next time you go through there look up high above that garage, you will have to slow down a bit and be lookin up as you come out of the left hander in the pine trees proper.be careful going over the hump after the right hander 1) buses,2) martyn doing a ten point turn trying to go up lytton st :o

  5. True true (what location are you thinking

left left right left through the pine tress on the way down after you pass wadestown shops heading away from town!!!!How much did you have to drink the other night anyway!!!!!

  6. thats telling it like it is CAM!!!I would be very careful running high wattage bulbs in your beamer...Any good brand PLUS bulbs, osram, phillips, hella, narva, with xenon gas mixture, apparently hella bulbs can be of variable quality, they dont make them themselves...no direct experience, also make sure your headlights themselves are clean INSIDE and out.....

  7. Carl it may be best to leave your PROPER test drive until you have scrubbed your new tyres in...coupla weeks or so.......I dont want you finding the bottom of the gully(railway lines actually) by those pine trees...... ;)

  8. too little too late(as usual) 235 45 17 bridgestone g III on the five, replacing nankangs, which felt terrible in the last but they were veryworn but no complaints.....the bridgestones seem really good a bit "whiny" on smooth seal but i havent had tyres this wide before,Although it is not recommended i will be rotating back to front soon..fronts wear the outsides, rears wear the insides.

  9. dug around and found the switch and it appears the recess into which the swith fits is broken.....i assume it is cos its only a three sided rectangle and i would assume it started of as four sided.....Time to get handy with plastic and self tappers or similar, but looks like a need a new bulb first

  10. some quotes from last nights get together in wellington,Martyn,Paul(kiwi 535),Carl,Tane(Deftones)...You guys have to put the quote to the name...

My average was 13.6 mpg for two years.....When i got 20 you would of heard the cheer from here!

I was trying to make the back pass the front all day....

With the Meguiars three step I just hose the dust off,but now I have got tar on the wheels

    A 3.25 is just too high a ratio for a ..... a 3.64 would be just right...

tane martyn carl not to respond!

  11. Filled up friday, as per normal myself. So this should be accurate.

    53.64L = $67.26 Dollars

trip counter was 515 km from last fill.

    =9.6km/litre

    10.417 l 100ks.not to bad for central auckland???The 535 would prolly be 16 l 100 ks in that S*&t

  12. the old seat of the pants meter can be very deceptive,of course the e 36 will prolly be a much nicer car but cos the ol e 30 are light the performance difference may not be as much as you think....as carl says the VANOS makes a huge difference....somenoe post up some kw and weight numbers......
