Don't be a dick sparkle. This is a n00b-friendly forum remember. Ignore him mtbboy. He just feels inadequate because he lost his eybrows last year. (with all due respect sparkle) What the censorious sparkle means to say is that it is usually poor forum etiquette to drag up old threads such as this one unless you are adding something of value to the thread. Even then there is an expiry date in most cases.

They are essentially run-flats without sidewalls. When my run-flats have no pressure in them, they still support the weight of the car and you can drive on them. Increase the profile somewhat and remove the sidewalls and there you have the michelin product (In the crudest of terms). The strength lost by removing the sidewall is regained by extending the baffles/spokes unitl they make contact with the rim. Wonder how well they smoke?

There's one on TM with a series 4 turbo in it. They want $7500. Needs acert and no idea of how well it's put together, but worth a look if you want to do this and save yourself some work. I considered looking at it but decided I wouldn't know what to do with it if I bought it so left it.

Just noticed your Japanese license plate bracket. Lose it bro. Will clean up the arse end heaps.

My post was a question - forgot the all-important "??????"

Seen plenty of hot house green e30's but that's the first e36. I reckon a darker shade would look even better. Like a modern take on Brittish Racing green. I like it. Looks good. It is a pity that so many of these cosmetically modified cars are 320's and usually autos. Would be cool to see something like this in a 328 etc with a bit of go to match the show.

KBRL-14-SL? = good for e30 series.

pffft! what a piece of crap. My e30 is waaaaay better! Nice one mate - car for me to aspire to. Very cool. The new wheels are a good choice. You lose a tiny bit of the refined look for a much more dsireable - raw GT race look. Awesome.

Ever done one Jazz? It looks pointless, and until yuo get the hang of it, feels pretty pointless even in the drivers seat, but when you hit the right spot and start spinning properly its like being a kid again going round till you feel dizzy and fall over. But with horsepower noise and somke!!!! Same reason I like 4x4ing - playing in puddles. Just now my gumboots are a couple of hundy HP of off-roader.

Is that tongue in cheek Jazz. R badges go with Hondas. With Mitsi its RalliArt.

Ray is royz off TM. Used to work out of home but now has a workshop behind Bavarian Motors. Have sourced the odd bit off him here and there. Coolant system is easy. Buy a flush to remove any oxidisatin and scaling etc. As well as the radiator drain plug, there is also a drain pug on the drivers side of the block if you want to drain the coolant entirely. There is a small screw on top of the thermostat for bleeding air out of the system when you're done. There are how-to's around. Google them. When was the cambelt done? Do it if its due. You need to drain the coolant and remove the radiator to do this anyway, so do them together. The last person I advised this on his new e30 spent the money on a big bore instead. He now has an e30 with no motor. While you're doing the cambelt do the water pump and check the front camshaft seal for leaks. Inspect all your belts. They have to come off for cambelt so good time to replace. Do your plugs, oil, and filters. Check condition of your motor mounts. I know it sounds like a big expensive list, but if you can do a lot of it yourself its not.

It's low kms and looks mint. i got $5500 for my similar condition 320i a month or so ago. This is a m325i (if it's genuine). I'd say $9k MAX. Edit: Beat me to it Gus. Yeah $7-10k depending on how it looks "in person".

The good one. 1990 e30 325i

It's a very nice looking car that.

It's illegal to apply any sort of "transparent cover, overlay or paint" that reduces the lights performance, but you are allowed to buy lights that are blacked/smoked already by using darker plastic. So... as long as you do a professional looking job so it is harder to tell they've been sprayed, AND they still flash orange, AND they are visible from 100m in clear daylight conditions and 200m in clear night conditions, then you are sweet.

Very nice. I thought it was Montreal Blue in the first pic, but it looks to be the same colour as Pam's e36. Nice car.
-
Looks really good. My only comment is that the more level you keep the AFM, the better. I may look into building a carbon one - have a mate who is handy with carbon.
-
That's what I too. If the motor is mint it's easily worth a grand. Tried to buy a mint mini or mini parts lately will? We got $2500 for our mini - 1982, stock standard 950cc complete with supermarket dings and worn upholstery. Motor was mint and mechanicals all straight - that's what they are worth.

rofl etc etc. Nice work dude.

Ouch. LHD M3's are down to only $15k here. I don'tknow whether you were posting those links because you considered them cheap Sam or expensive. They wopuld be cheap if road legal and so on, but as they all need "certing" to be driven in AUS or converting to RHD for most states, they seem expensive to me by NZ standards.

Unless you run a check onthe ecu or engine numbers, from the outside, the m20 b20 (2.0L) and the m20b25 (2.5L) look identical so who's to know. Pay around $500 - 900 for a m20b25 depending on kms, whether it comes with loom and so on, and whether you get it privately or through a wrecker. Pay around $1200-2000 for a m50b25 with all the bits plus another $500-2000 to put it in deopending on how much maintenance you do, how many new parts you use and how much you do yourself.

Hi, I sold my old car to a Wellingtonian. Before sale I put the four best tyres on it from my stock of tyres that were already on bottlecaps. I thought I had checked, but it seems I put 3 non-directionals and an assymetrical tyre on (or something like that - hard to figure out exactly what she said). Anywho, I have heaps of tyres and was wondering if someone down there had a spare non-directional 195/65/14 they would be willing to swap either for the tyre currently on the car down there, or for one of mine that I can bring to the megameet and get one of the Wellington members coming to the meet to deliver to you (if you are not coming). It would have to have legal tread - say 6mm or thereabouts as that is roughly what is on the rest of them. I'm not going to buy her a new tyre, but if I can make good on the deal in this way I will to keep her happy. A reply ASAP would be good as I understand it is the only thing stopping her getting a WOF. Cheers.

I just think its funny that William posted up pics of his "new ride" here before he even talked to the seller to ensure all was legit.

Needles were hand painted red with fire-engine red modelling paint and a very steady hand. Those of you who have tried to do this and failed will understand it is not all that easy, but if you are careful you get a very nice result. The exhaust will be entirely redone as the previous owner stuck a single pipe from the headers through an expansion chamber and on to a el-cheapo muffler. Sounds arse. Will be doing a proper twin system probably with reciprocal coby's and DTM style tips. Manual first!

No problem - but you'll only be able to drive it on the internet. I heard there is no speed limit on the information superhighway and that you can travel at the speed of light? Anyone confirm this? I also heard that even if in real life you drive a 1982 ford laser with no wof or reg, you can get a picture of someone elses phat ride, and take it to ratemyride and its yours! Oh to live in internet land....
