You have to bleed the system. On e30's there is a bleed valve on top of the thermostat housing. Yuo loosen the bolt (don't need to undo it totally) and pour coolant in while the engine is running, when water comes out the valve, tighten it and you're done. I image e36 have something similar.

Bit of blow-by. Worst case scenario is rings/valve guides, but could be small vacuum leak, or blown headgasket f**king with pressures inside the engine. I had it - would always blow blue smoke on startup as the oil burnt off. A good clean out of the intake system, and checking of all valve clearances, hoses, gaskets solved the problem.

Manual conversion usually goes for around $700 - 850. Then you will need to spend roughly another $500 or so on new parts to replace any worn ones, bearings etc. Plus your time to put it in.

That's different. There are paints with varying flexibilities - a thin layer of a water-based wash might be the best bet.

Sounds electrical - check all leads/HT wires, and spray engine start on the connectors as suggested by petone. Once it all dries out properly you should be OK - but there's a good chance there is still water in the system even afer 24 hours

As for the knock - I was thinking the same as jochen - could even be raer trailing arm bushes. The jingle noise is something I had. For me it was just the locking sleeve on the prop shaft that ensures the spline stays together had undone itself and when I went over a bump it would off-bablance it, it would jingle for a second till it started spinning the same speed as the prop shaft again and go away. 10 minute fix to remove heatsheilding, tighten it and done.

If the tach is working now - check the speed sensor plug on the back of the diff.

I'm 99% sure you'll be fine. that is the right offset I beleive and 235 should be OK on e36. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Also your profile should be 35 but you could get away with 40 - but then you'll have more chance for rubbing.

Fish eye is the Gay. Cut down version of the full terraview platinum package (which I have) which is also the gay. Slow, cumbersome and aerial photography has poor coverage (worse than Google Earth) and if you want decent resolution you have to pay. They sent Fisheye all over the country to homes and businesses, but its actually quite crap compared to other mapping and land information software (like quick map). I am a land professional (surveyor) and we use terraview, have access to landonline, and I still use sites like zoomin and smaps as they are much better for straight-out streetmaps and I use Google Earth for my aerial photographs. Why pay Council $45 for an aerial photo with boundaries when you can overlay a terraview jpeg over a Google Earth screen and print your own.
