  1. Control inputs/outpus... should be abe to hook it into my dynatron then. Is the cellular GSM? ie do you buy your own sim and slot it in, or is it CDMA and have to get telecom to hook you up?
  2. My bad - thought you meant the whole set.

    Urgent

Ha - remind me of last months crossword in classic car. 27 down: The condition of semi-control half way between a drift (controlled, hopefully) and a skid (when you lose it).(5) I think the answer is slide, but have to wait till next month to check...
  4. Around $1200 I think. Have a look at www.shox.com for the Bilstein sports shocks for e30 - same shocks. I think they may be as low as $700 there.

    My 540i

That'll do me - when you've had your fun PM me and I'll give you my delivery address.
  6. I was hoping you'd read this Shelley. PM me with what you can do for me - you have an e30, so you know what I want - some vinyl to as close as possible match the flat finish of the b pillar trim on facelit and late pre-facelift models (yous is a motorsport so should have the same finish) I need enough to do the chrome trims on both sides of the car - havn't measured it, but need a fwe metres but only thin strips - maybe you could get me the end of a roll or something and I can then cut it into strips.
  7. Went to my local signwriter for some and they don't use anything with a satin finish and havn't for more than 15years. They do digital printing on vinyl, signwriting, screen printing, corporate and team printing and embroidery blah blah blah and are a large workshop so I imagine if they don't have it, no-one will. So, where the hell can I get some? Cheers

OK, sweet - was looking for something for a mate but his budget is half that. Cheers anyway.
  9. Cool, where you find that??? Maybe someone with a few more PC skills than me could somehow download the entire site and zip it so we don't one day lose it if it gets taken down.
  10. no, but what are you up to?
  11. Look them up on wikipedia - wikipedia has basic specs for all bmw engines plus a list of which models had what engine.
  12. Dude - at least spell it right - Haere
  13. I couldn't find SE there, but SE is the Special Equipment version like WIll (Three 1 8) says. Search the forums, there is a thread about them somewhere - maybe as far back as late 2004/early 2005.

    Alpina stripes

I could get pinstripes PAINTED on my car forless than $750. Give your local signwriter a 2D picture of the Alpina stripes and they should be able to whip some out of vinyl for around $100 I got 8 bmw logos that used three different coloured bits of vinyl (Black white and blue) cut into the correct shapes and overlaid on each other and put onto a backing paper for $80 - a one or two colour pinstripe will be donkeys piss.
  15. Not all police carry the glocks just as not all police will carry the tasers - only those specifically trained to use them can carry them and they remain locked in the car until such time as it is deemed prudent to get them out. In other words, only those police that are in the specific departments that are called to arrest violent/armed offenders have the weapons in their car, and they would only take them out of the car if responding to a call where it was known the offender was liekly to violently resist arrest, or was carrying a weapon. You won't see police walking down the street with tasers or glocks strapped to them as a general rule.
  16. Holy shitballs. Reminds me of a particular Robert G. Barret book. f**ken seppos. You would use a shitload of ammo tho!

    driveshafts

You are supposed to mark the driveshaft halves before you pull it apart so you can put it back together the same. a couple of splines out won't make much of a difference, but if your universals aren't in phase you'll wear them out pretty quick and add vibrations, and if they are in phase, but 180 degrees out you may also get vibration. If you don't have any driveline vibration and the u-joints are in phase then don't worry about it.

    Dunedin

Will - because when I was at uni they had avote regarding compulsory union fees and even though I voted against it, the vote went the other way and compulsory fees won. Ollie - There are better places to eat than Lone Star (sorry cain) Theres a mean Italian place upstairs opposite the Rialto (I forget its name but they sell italian and tuscan food and have musicians wandering about etc), or they do a mean meal and beer at the outback, but its the outback so thats for the lose. The woolshed does a fab meal and beer too. Or go down Bath St and find a tiny restaurant called Tull - the subs are so-so, but the dessert menu is off the hook - do a death-by-chocolate type dish that is pretty good for about $15. Larnach castle is OK, if you are out that way go a bit further and go to the seal colony at the end of the peninsula. Tunnel beach is a cracker of a beach to get away from the rest of the punters flocking to St Kilda/St Clair and its a short drive away. Fav "fanging" roads if you have wheels - Leith Valley Rd (Go up Duke St in North Dunedin by George St Normal School and follow it all the way to the main Highway a few km north of Dunedin - there is a bridge on the gravel you can get air on) Queens Drive - twisty bush about 600m from main street Tomahawk and highcliff rds out to Lanarch and the road up to the Lookout at Signal Hill - you can go see baldwin st while you are up that way. Way back in the days- it was a test of your car to see how fast you could drive up baldwin st. In the 80's apparently old falcons etc used to fang it up there mighty quick. I won't say how quick we did it in my student days as it was a pretty dumb thing to do - a guy I knew was the guy who was in the wheelie bin sliding down baldwin st when the chick died. Its student hols so the pubs will be a bit quieter than usual.
