MB Quarts are fkn good speakers for those of you looking at the price and going "holy crap!" Worth every penny. Unfortunately I don't have 70,000 pennies or I'd buy them. Good luck with the sale.

Any springs made for your car will fit. I have some King Lows you could have but I imagine you want to go lower. Any decent brand matched with some decent shocks will do - just don't be cheap - do it once and do it properly even if that means saving up.

Legality of Custom BBS RS 16x11 - instant pink sticker?

Also check the WOF manual - you cannot have tyres/wheels that protrude out from the guards like that - you'd have to get your guards flared or settle for wheels that only go out to the edge of the guard. And you'll have to make sure your guards can't hit the wheels when going over bumps. Alll possible for a cost - hope yoyu do it as it'll look badass. -
I do - or at least my Dad. The Willys is RH on the left side of the car and LH on the right with a little "L" stamped on the stud end. I won't tell you the pain it caused the first time he tried to remove the wheels assuming they were all RH as he'd taken the two left wheels off already and hadn't noticed the little "L" on the rigth ones. Was really funny afterwards, but not at the time - the shed walls got a few new dents...

Gus... FT FTW heh - exactly - but when you buy secondhand you get all the problems of rounded heads from the dipstick who owned the car beofre you. I agree with you in principle, but in reality, you do whatever it takes to get the damn bolt off and worry about putting a new one in later. Thanks to all the suggestions. Oh and whereabouts is "wurth"?

You can loosen the spring on the throttle linkage on top of the inlet manifold by 1/2 a turn or more which will make the accelerator easier to press. Just not too much or it won't spring back when you take your foot off. It's a good idea to do as it puts less strain on your cbles and linkages. I've done it on both my e30's and on a mates.

Don't know what they are worth but I'll take whatever ones you don't want off your hands - I need a low beam ellipsoid, but will take more if I have too.

Not necessarily -its a common trick. 1/2" = 12.7mm (only .3 of a mm less than 13mm for soft 13mm bolt heads that have rounded - will need a hammer to 'tap' it on. 5/8 = 15.9mm = only 0.1mm less than 16mm 15/16' = 23.8mm and going the other way using metric on imperial bolts) 7/16 = 11.1mm (use your 11mm spanner on a rounded 1/4" bolt head) 9/16 = 14.3mm 3/4 = 19.05mm!!! 7/8 = 22.2mm So even top tools could be used on the wrong size bolts if they are softer metals, rounded and you persuade them to go on the bolt with a small hammer. If possible use a 6-sided socket as they have much better grip than 12 sided just more of a pain to put on, and those metrinch tools - I would love to see them in use to see if they are as good as they say.

While we are on the topic of bugs - the forum is only displaying as wide as the banner at the top. Only takes up half the width my browser window. Very hard to read. And every time I click a link on the new site (not the forum) it advises me I have a new PM but it is one I received weeks ago.

Should've bought those Alpina's that sold on Wednesday - $1170. Would have fit perfectly and looked badass. Go get some catalogues of wheels and sit down with Nathan or myself and we'll point you in the right direction.

Dude in the last 6 days I've had the cambelt and all pulelys off, cooling system removed, sump off, motor mounts out, driveshaft off, bumpers off, part of the interior out and then a couple of weeks back all suspension, struts etc out. Used 6, 7, 8, 10, 13, 14, 17, 19, 22, 32mm, 5/8, 5/16 (for rounded metric bolts and a hard-to-get to torx - 5/16 ring spanner fiits the small torx) sockets and spanners 3 different sizes of torx head (female) 2 different sizes of torx head (male), 4 diffeerent sizes of allen head, pliers, screwdirvers, circlip pliers, stilson wrench, torque wrench, etc etc and had to borrow the odd thing (thanks will) and just getting frustrated with not having good enough gear so time to invest. Thanks for the comments - will look into teng and metrinch. I like jonnesway, but BNT is their local stockist and they won't order in anything unsual like larger torx sockets for some strange reason.

ATF dipstick needs to be checked with the car running. Maybe it just ran out of fluid (leak?) and so not functioning properly. You should probably drain al the fluid, inspect the belts (535 autos have belt(s) anyone?) and then replace the filter and fluid and go from there. After that the options are a secondhand auto box or a manual conversion. I'd be pricing up a manual converison if it were me - If you do the labour yourself you should be able to do it for less than 2 grand. A stitch in time...

I'm sick of the sh*t quality tools most retailers sell to Joe Public. I have a range of tools from Alltrade (do not touch with a barge pole) to Powerbuilt (OK if you are only doing light-weight work) to better stuff like Jonnesway, Snap-on, Sidchrome, Stahlwille etc. So I'm looking for comments from people who have used tools for years and have found "good" brands. This means you will have been doign relatively extensive automotive work for some time (not just a backyard manual conversion once awhile ago) and actually know what you are talking about. I don't want to get the best as it is not for commercial use and I can't afford $50 per socket, but some decent, well-priced tools that are going to last me 20yrs or more. Also - where can I buy them? Cheers P.S. I have some basic stuff, but with the exception of the odd item (like good extensions, universals, breaker bars, torque wrench, jack, stands, ramps, chain block) I wouldn't mind if the whole lot got lost and I started again, so anyone who knows of a good "apprentice" type kit with mainly just a good set of socket drivers and sockets, ratchet box wrenches etc would be good. I have no idea what something like that would cost but I'm guessing around the $1000 should get me what I'm after.

Well he came from Paeroa and now he's world famous in NZ - at least on trademe anyhow. If you buy the car I'll throw in the free beer and since Will lives just down the road, I'm sure I could organise some sort of date for all you single ladies keen on the car - you keen William???

Apart from too much plastic trim I think it look sOK - lots of potential for the mods you all know it'll get in the hands of those crazy Japanese ricers. Will go like a bat out of hell also - looks 9000% better than the latest Skyline. Thank god they decided to develop the GTR as a separate car.

I'm a sucker for Astons - I'd own any aston - ANY! So far the closest thing I own to an Aston is a David Brown 80HP tractor.

Anyone got their bentley handy? i'm at work about to go home and put my cooling system back together and plan to buy antifreeze on the way home but forgot to find out how much I need. What is the volume of a fully topped-up e30 cooloing system with auto radiator? Ah - found it myself - online version of the Haynes. 10.5L Cheers!

I also have two. Looking to get rid of them both. One is from a motronic (f/l) 325 and is in perfect order. The other is from a motronic (f/l) 320 and needsnew seals. You could have them both if you like for somewhere in the low hundy's. Brent is probably closer to you though.

Depending on the thoroughness of the WOF station, they may pick up on the non-functioning bulb. But worth a calculated risk surely. Cost to fix???? Depends on what exactly is wrong.

tasteful 18's for $450?? that's a good deal in anyones opinion. Selling because the tread wore down????? sh*t I hope she/he buys some genuine Alpina's next time - I'll buy them when the tread wears down.
