There are quite a few around - some "funboys" were having a "cuddle" at my place a few months back after several hours watching beer "evaporate" and put a nice dent in the Baur's front guard - $60 worth of panel-pulling labour later and the dent dissappeared.

The "gay bit" at the top of the rear shocks is removable. I remember seeing instructions on how to do it in my bentley manual.

And gasket grease for the water pump gasket. I'm half way through my change (a missing o-ring on my cam-shaft seal kit which I'm also doing has stopped me finishing the job). Water pump was 100-ish with metal impeller and came with a gasket. Belt was around the $50 mark for QH brand one (happens to be same as the one that came off). Tensioner was $30 I think. All parts from Euro-Italian and include some "frequent-flyer" discount. All made in germany, all seem good quality - buy almost everything from there and never had any problems.

You should have removed the power-steering belt, aircon/alternator belt and fan belt etc already. The fan pulley (water pump pulley) comes off with 4 bolts - the drive pulley on the crankshaft comes off with 6 bolts. Have you removed the radiator etc? It's alot easier if you do. Yes - it is quite likely that during a cambelt change you may actually have to get under the car!

I had a think - yeah I'll do it if you end up being short and needing someone - but if there is someone busting to do it, I'll queue behind them.

I have never been a fan of dark-background forums - I think they look terrible and yes - hard to read. In fact, I am not a memebr of any forums that are dark - maybe a subconscious aversion?? You surely can incorpaorate the company colours around post borders, banners etc, but leave the message background itself a lighter colour?

Sounds like fun - PM or MSN me Andrew. A decent bike is going to be my major shortcoming - only got a dirty old 10 speed. But I doubt I'd hold you up as I passed the run test for police training and now everyone's bleating on about how hard it is and that they should relax the time limit.

Arrrgh!!! my eyes!!!!!!! And it's damn slow. But I guess it'll speed up in a bit esp. when my chache catches up and new GUI I'll get used to. Fast reply ftw! Andrew doing a victory pose: EDIT BY Andrew: This is a better victory pose hah

:banghead: Yet still I can't help but like it.

Haha - truat you to find a way that involves a) yanking and b ) risk of injuring yourself Gus. If you turn it to full left lock first it'll come undone - no "yanking" required.

Turn it to full left lock.

Link to the ad I understand the cultural insensitivity - that haka is not meant to be performed by women and it will be considered offensive to many Maori and non-Maori. However, mimckry is the ultimate form of flattery, and at the end of the day the ad is meant to make you smile, not intentionally piss you off. I am undecided whether I should be offended that the Italians refused to seek cultural guidance and went ahead with the ad, or whether it's all just a bunch of PC crap and it doesn't hurt anyone at the end of the day. So - mimickry or mockery - what say you?

I don't know about e39's but e30's tourings and sedans are the same as far as wheel alignment specs go. Again - not sure about e39's, but e30's you can't make any adjustments to the rear alignment. Finally - a wheel alignment could change the steering wheel position to some small degree, but any reputable place would surely spend the 2 or 3 minutes moving it 1 or 2 splines to make it straight again.

Sweet - sounds like you scored a bargain. Although I have dropped my asking price since we first talked as that was just a pie-in-the-sky figure as the car wasn't yet for sale.
