  1. Hi Guys, As you may know I am trying to sell my E30 325i, so it has been getting little use lately. Battery is not holding it's charge and has gone flat a couple of times. So today I fitted a new battery, exactly the same as the old one, fitted correctly etc etc. Turned the key on and there was a bit of a power surge before I turned it over. ie the car kinda moved as the power reached the engine. Anyhow started it and it started straight away but the idle was surging from 1000-1500rpm, it's never done that before. Gave it a rev and it settled down. So I proceeded to go for a drive but as soon as you approach 2500rpm the car almost feels like it dies and then goes again, so you end up bunny hopping down the street. Kind of feels like you have hit the rev limiter @2500rpm. Not a good look! Any ideas? Drove it last weekend with a different battery and it went flawlessly. Great timing as someone wants to come a take it for a test drive tonight. Murphys Law!
  2. Hey, good to see the wheels on the car, looks good! Any side on pics? Any guard rub with the 55's?
  3. I can't believe this hasn't sold yet. Obviously no market for E30's at the moment. TM link
  4. I am driving to Picton this weekend, so could deliver to the ferry. Still for sale
  5. I have only had two people look at this car so far! Lots of people wanting to swap etc. I guess there is no money around at the moment. Still for sale Driving to Picton this weekend, so could deliver to the ferry if needed.
  6. Buy me Delivery to Picton/Wellington possible for the North Island buyer
  7. And cheaper.....Buy me I can possibly get the car to Picton/Wellington for the North Island buyer for very little.
  8. See link here...For sale I don't think the car has been resprayed, the boot and front guards have been. Thanks
  9. E30 325i (2.8l) open road 9.4L per 100km, with the odd full throttle burst. Town about 16L per 100kms E39 530i open road 9.1L per 100km also with the odd full throttle burst. Town about 13L per 100kms. Could probably do better, but fun vs economy, fun usually wins!
  10. Surely someone on here would love to own this car. I have enjoyed it for the last 5 years (and had very little trouble) but we have moved onto something a bit bigger a E39. Thanks for looking...E30 325i manual

    E39 Love

Not up to the standard of those ones, but here's mine..........
  12. To give you an idea on price, I have just had my motorsport one done. $80 just for welding or $330 for welding and full respray.
  13. Engine pic as requested,
  14. I like the way you think Atta! Not a bad idea. I'd prefer to sell as a whole car thanks. Jeddy, the car is in Riccarton.
  15. Any interest? I will list on TM in the weekend.
  16. Will have a new wof and reg until Dec 2010.
  17. Wouldn't really like to say but, Graeme Clyde reckon he had dynoed one of the 2.8L m20's that he had built and it was around 220bhp. I think it has a different cam too. One E30 mechanic I took it too said it went really well and it was quicker than his 2.7L m20 that he had built.
  18. Thanks for the questions Apex (I know you are not a dreamer!) Car is a UK import early 90's from memory, I'll check tonight. Dash is a bit creaky and seems to move around a bit on rough roads. ie gravel corrugations I think one of the previous owners have had it apart or out at some stage. All dash lights work and no blown pixels (touch wood) The bodykit is genunine mtech and was fitted in the UK, I think factory fit. Has all clips etc and fits well. The front spoiler has two broken clips, one on each side. The broken plastic tab is still in the clip on the valance. The front valance is a bit out of shape but I have another one that is straight. The spoiler was on the car when I bought it, it had one small screw holding on each side and then clipped in at the front. (Hope that makes sense) No LSD sorry. The car has bilstein streetline kit in it, but I have gone back to the BMW motorsport rear springs as the streetline rears were too low for my liking. I am happy to put which ever springs you would like in it or include them in sale. Options, no maplight or tweeter pods it has the skibag but not sure this is classed as a choice option! BTW your M325i looks fantastic! If I was keeping the car I would change dash, respray and fit front spoiler and valance, change sunroof (couple of bubbles appearing), fix oil leak around front cam seal and change the rubber guido in driveshaft as there seems to be a bit of slop in the drivetrain. I have tried to track this down while owning the car and have changed diff, gearbox, engine mounts and rear subframe bushes, but there is still some slop in there. Guido looks ok but it is about all that is left to do. Thanks, Gareth
