Update: So after talking to a few people and gathering information, the car will be keeping the Factory ECU and keeping the Vanos, it will also be running a standard fly wheel instead of a dual mass one. so far the car is getting the engine put in over the next few days, then suspension from there I will probably give them a visit in a week or two to take some pic's

man that sucks, feel so sorry for you man. on the bright side you can pick a new shell with live plates for $500-1000 and swap everything over. Time to swap to white coupe maybe.....

This car is not going to be running Vanos, it is being removed......solves alot of problems

ollie - the guys at racefx reckon that since the engine is post 95' it will have EWS-II on it, which is the security to make sure the engine can only be used in the original chassis. I can buy a chip that will delete this feature. I'll give Gavin a call and see what he can suggest.

cool, just out of interest, is it quicker to drift everything like he does or to drive it as you would a track car, as in tight lines ect ect???
-
dont have to worry about vanos as that's being removed as they have a tendency to break if raced ive got some 16 5 series weaves that fit, just need some cheap tires for now

+1, usually when noise come from somewhere that's where the problem is at. one thing that fix's a gearbox is to take the oil out, fill it with kerosene, go through all the gears, then drain and put oil back in and do the same then for piece of mind drain and put more oil in, so that you know there is no kerosene left in there worked with making my shifts way less clunky and cut back on the noise
