UPDATE TIME: Car is over at raceFX to have the engine and suspension put in. Few questions i need answered are With a 5 lug conversion it seems to be the front wheels are to far back, how is this problem addressed? What brake booster would be right for the e30 as it needs to power e36 M3 brakes, ive heard of porches ones being used but cant remember what type. also will be on the lookout for 16" 5x120 rims (offset yet to found out as suspension is not on) and Babb's looks stunning oh and they said it might be done in a few days, then I laughed.....they didn't

Update: So after going on the cruise I feel I need a water temp and oil pressure gauge, can anyone point me in the direction of the cheapest way to do this?

nic i do believe the keep it votes are now ahead again. the rear spoiler gives it a bit of personality

nz needs citizens arrest then you could actually have some control over the situation. by the looks of this thread there are alot of people having bad things happen to them, maybe if everyone owned a BMW there would be no criminals....

take the thermostat out and boil it in some water just to make sure, sounds like it isn't opening fully to me

on the body I have no idea about the engine as the shell it came out of. Had everything swapped, as in the steering rack and struts had been both replaced. and the firewall had been welded up so im gussing the old engine was crushed and they put a new one in then a long time after that the car was rear ended and written off story short, engine goes great. have you had a look at the latest pics i took of it? There in my project thread

cheers, I bought off Ray(HellBM) some 51mm struts with bilstein inserts and Racing dynamics springs, and for the rears i got racing dynamics springs with monroes. all i need now is some nice wheels as the current ones are stolen from the racecar

So this weekend i painted the pods, still need a few more coats, also sprayed the plastics black and the indicators got the thinnest coat of black just to make them look the part. also put in some suspension i bought off ray, also put in the rear sway bar then gave it a good clean ready for the cruise tomorrow

I did the exact same swap, first off i changed just the engine and gearbox, you can get away with doing this but it doesn't drive that well i have since swapped the suspension and sway bars and i have found that's given me a nice car, only other thing to do now is swap the diff as the 320i auto came with a 4.4 diff which makes for very short changes and not the best fuel efficiency on the motorway. other than that, nothing else is needed.

one thing i noticed it has the smily headlight on the left side, now after whoring e30's for a while ive noticed ALOT of post 1990 cars only have one smily on the left, anyone got a reason for this??????? and someone buy it into the bimmersport family, wouldn't take much to make it quite the looker.
-
would probably get this if i had the money, a good buy for someone if the interior is decent. I liiiiike what do you guys think
-
umm my car has got a current Wof and rego but my dad reckons putting the dealer plate on, covers me under his insurance. I will be getting insurance for the 325i soon tho hope the same thing dosent happen to me
-
yeah why do you need so many cars.....not like I have 4 e30's at the moment
-
FYI. when doing my 325i swap, i paid $500 for a complete Coupe shell from mosens in Hamilton so really its not that expensive, you could also buy a coupe shell and start doing the m50 conversion and keep your current car as a daily while your doing it. Then when your done swap the good bits over and sell the maroon missile.

haha I hate balljoints, my father and I were having trouble getting this one balljoint undone, so we just used a sledge hammer, welllllll he was hitting the sh*t outta it, then when it finally came undone we found that all the other ball joints either side of the front suspension were also undone just from the sheer amount of vibration going throughout the car i would not suggest this way, its all in the quick shock not in the strength, but a little strength never hurts edit, back on topic, i got the springs off once the struts were out of the car, makes it 100x easier
-
looking good!!! looks like its got a fair few more horse's than a 316i can put out the m50 conversion your thinking of will complement the car very nicely.
-
pretty much sums it all up.

if you want to keep the noise under 100db, does just putting a straight pipe(or dual pipes??) with muffler on the end cut it, hp and noise wise? as the e3050 with the exact same engine will be needing a new exhaust as I sold the stock one.
