Cheers, I toyed with the idea of an M30 into the E30 myself. I couldn't find any decent bodies down here to buy for the conversion with body kit etc. Or they wanted drug money.

I drove that car quite some time ago...I have been in negotiation on the price with the owner for some time. Nothing has come of it yet. He did start out at $15000 so we are gettting closer to what I think it is worth. StylesM5 is in the ball park of where I think it should be priced. I'm firm on my price and the guy thinks it is worth more so have a shot!

Is that 420km's froim 60l or is it just geting to the orange light? My 535is does about the same around town, 60l = 420-450k's..

Yes I'm torn. I love the 535is, I was keen for a 540 but in manual, must be manual, but my boss(read gf) would like a smaller car for when I borrow hers. I love how solid the 5 is to drive! Any way...is the four door MTECH kit different to the two?

I want both. But is it harder to find an Mtech body kit or the leather interior. The SA import I'm looking t has no kit. but all te other goodies. Is it going to be hard work and expensive to find a kit? Cheers, Richard.

Yep the mags would be off it so quick it would not be funny. Not my cup of tea but I'm sure somebody would take them off my hands for a bit of cash. Yeah and he thinks it may have a LSD so I'll hopfully go and check it out this week. The money he is after is about right for it....

Could some body clear this up for me? Is it all SA spec E30's or is it just the 325is? I've got my eye on a SA 325i four door. Can I expec it to have sump guard, long range fuel tank? Anything else? LSD? Rich.

Unfortunatly some idiot took out the 535is, so depending what $ the insurance co. want for the wreck I'm thinking of buying it. So I would have a 5spd and M30b34. I'm a bit bummed that it sounds like the LSD would be if no use. I'm sure it would need it. It was fantastic in the 535is when pushing on. It sounds like "position III" for the engine is the way to go. Keep it as far back as possible. I would have loved to have used my 840i wheels as well on the conversion , but they are of no use either. Any way the big thing is going to be how much money the insurance co wants for. Weather it is worth while to do or not. Thanks for all your input guys. If I do end up going down this path I will keep you posted. Rich.

Yes Gus I was wondering what they handle like. I've seen somewhere how much heavier the M30 is thna the M20 and it wasn't a lot. I'd be interested in any other feed back about the car you drove??? How did the M30 compare to say a 2.7l m20? I may have a 535 e34 manual as a donor car. Hence the question. I didn't realise the Plug and Play aspect of the wiring harnesses either. Makes life easy! The next thing for it to come together would be a nice E30 4 or 2 door, Leather interior, Mtech 1 or 2 kitted.... Also Cheers Cain.
