All the big names at the time:

Yes Kent's car. The one that nearly killed him. It was a ACS car leased under bond from ACS. It went up to Macau and raced there before it got demolished at Puke. We worked on a lot of the "Rich Kid's" cars back then. The race car had a specialist team including BMW NZ staff working on the car full time. My customer list which I still have is staggering .

We even had a helicopter built in the workshop for Kent Baigent owner of Tellus Vacuum Cleaners in 1985 This photo was taken when moving the workshop over to new premises in FOX St Parnell From Eglon St. Was a Rota Way Kitset built by aircraft engineer and Blair Crossan. Our workshop was also used by advertising companies in the area who were also customers for automotive adds. Customers like Saatchi & Saatchi and Clemenger BBDO.

I'm curious to know if we have any Automotive Technicians or Automotive Business owners on the forum . Add to the discussion here or PM me. If Automotive Engineering is not your Profession or trade please keep comments civil and respectful.

I don't think you can buy one of each size. They are sold as pairs

Give this a read

Or talk to Joe at Eurosurgeon about a remap. Not today though he's out at Hampton Downs

These late model diesels are not wise for school trolleys as they need to be driven . The exhaust particulate filters clog up. Go out and give it a blast on the motorway for 20-30 km at 500 rpm below redline every now and again and watch the smoke. Just drive it in manual to keep those revs up. You can have some fun at the same time if you choose some back roads. Try getting the school chariot drivers to do that ?

EGR issues are known to cause these problems. Have you had it checked (scanned) ?
-
The outer is the one you should have done first while everything is supported if your going to use the bash method. I have the tools here in Papakura
-
The cable needs to be refitted, fault codes cleared and reset with the right scanner to check if it actually works. Does yours have cruise control as well ? If so I suggest you get the guys to check it out properly for you.
-
It may have been disconnected for a reason or have you been working on the car ?

What year is the car ? "T" bar lever or ball type? Does the lever move freely and selects the drive positions easily?
-
Sounds very much like a shifter remote problem in the center console. Is the selector shaft boot torn or missing ?

I was wrong Jared

My comments on here were wrong. I've deleted them

My apologies to Sam and others on this forum. I have been so wrong with my replies to this thread. I should have checked before replying on here. It's been a very long time since I've changed front springs (2006 on the Ti) and I should have made sure my statements were correct.
