Hey, I ordered a victor reinz gasket set from pelican, which has arrived and I see I managed to order the wrong set. BMW noob issue. The valve cover seal is different from what came off my engine. Can anyone tell me what the difference is, and will the rest of the kit be fine? Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sweet had a look into those gaskets on pelican last night seem pretty well priced. Will see what shipping adds to it. Na the cams are in pretty good nick, it's probably just a little bit of grim that your seeing, they need wiped Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Starting cleaning this blackened mess down, quite an interesting engine, I'm use to looking at Toyota 4age's. Got the cam trays out and soaked them in degreaser and got stuck in with a tooth brush, cleaned up the cams, pulled the head, apart from a little build up on the valves it all looks ok. What's the options for head gaskets? I see the cometic one on trademe, any other options? Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've got the arms and sump kit, so shouldn't be too far away from getting it near the car, once I get my hands on a gearbox Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

To be honest I don't know a hell of a lot about these engines, never even thought of the M54b30. Hopefully this one doesn't turn into a boat anchor! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So after a few changes at home, new kid, selling our house I finally got back into this project. Started pulling the engine apart for a look, it's pretty full of what looks like carbon build up. I'm not sure if I want to pull the vanos/cams etc apart to clean it all up. Anyone got any ideas to give this a tidy up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi guys, Just pulled the engine and auto box out of a donor car. I'm using the engine, but the tranny is not required. Anyone interested? Done 165xxxkms. Offers Other parts that will be for sale, driving lights, tail lights, doors, glass etc. if you need anything let me know. Also have some weld on coilover sleeves, bought from speed factor, never used, change of plans so out they go. $110 delivered.

Hi, what model is that box? Would it mate to a m52?
-
Still got the ZF manual conversion?
-
Looking good, will it be able to flash warnings, oil pressure etc?
-
I'm guessing I'm not the only one, but is there any more development on this? Very interested to see this hit the market!

Thought about building your own coilovers for the fronts? Easy to do with weld on spring perches, and cheap

Hey, Need to raise a few more fun tokens for the rally build, so time to flick on parts from this I don't need. Parts gone, diff, axles, engine, radiator, front suspension, the rest is pretty much there. Its done 165xxxkms. Auto trans - $100 Left headlight - $50 Tail Lights - $80 Driving Lights - $100 Panels, interior and misc parts let me know if your interested in anything. Unfortunately I'm in Invercargill, so for the rest of the country shipping will be required, I can drop to PBT for depot to depot. Cheers Adz

Manual gearbox?

interesting way to deal with the sun roof, I was thinking I was going to have to reskin the whole roof on my car, might look into doing that instead.

I got some I could part with from my coupe, $50 for 2.

Yeah I saw that one on trademe, I'll try to find a 4.45 crown-wheel and pinion. I've got a lsd. That ratio should be perfect. Also picked this up yesterday, M52b28, problem is that it's attached to a whole car, so will have to flick some parts on and scrap it.
-
Still here, just slowly gathering parts here and there. Am in the process of designing/making a rotisserie so we can start stripping all the underseal off. Any tips here would be appreciated... Really looking forward to that job. Can anyone tell me what is the highest ratio you can get for a medium case diff? I'm pretty sure you can get a 4:27, just unsure from what, and if there are any higher ratios.
