    I have power!

Yeah...I'm taking some sugar to put in Andrew's gas tank at Taupo so that I can ensure I stay ahead of him on the track and to ensure that the 325i, isn't upstaged by the 320i. Especially since Andrew's suspension is so much better than mine, and in the corners he will make substantial gains. Just as well there is no overtaking allowed in the corners Cheers

    alittle help please

Funny that someone is considering putting these on their car (when it is as close to an ///M car as a 10 speed bicycle), after starting a recent thread on the forum recently about showing her disgust at having to make a an AC Schnitzer sticker for a customer who didn't have an ACS car at all.Stick to the ones that say "3 Series", at least that is truthful. My 2c worth anyway. Cheers

    My new foglights

It's only a switch, go the $2 option. Why pay $23 more for something that is no better? Cheers
  6. your car is definately fuel injected. The E30 318i is supossed to get about 11km/l (26mpg). Therefore on a full tank of gas (assuming you have the 64 litre tank) you should get about 700km's on a tank. Wellington to Taupo is about 370km's, therefore you should use 33 litres of petrol (just over 1/2 a tank). It would seem you are using a bit more petrol than you should, but remember it may be the fuel guage being a bit inaccurate. When mine is sitting on empty, I still have about 14 litres left in the tank (which is effectively 1/5 of a tank). Hope this is useful. Cheers

    My new foglights

Nice work Ollie. Your car always looks so clean and tidy, very impressive. Cheers
  8. hahaha....it may sound a bit like mine, but I would soon lose sight of it as it races away from me in the distance.
  9. ohh...that straight 6 having its legs stretched is a beautiful sound. It takes a lot to beat a BMW inline 6 at full noise. Great video, I like it a lot. Thanks Marcel. Cheers
  10. Definately on the driver side in my car.Cheers
  11. It'll tell you what version of Motronic it is on the ECU that is mounted under the dash to the right of the steering column. (there will be a sticker on the underside of the ECU).Cheers

    I want......

That is no ordinary supermarket Milo Can either...it is an industrial sized one capable of providing a whole factory with hot non-caffiene beverages for a whole year!!

    Need New Tyres

My new tyres are being fitted tomorrow. I went with the Yokohama's again. I am also getting an alignment done, a slow leak in one of my remaining tyres fixed, and the two tyres I am replacing put on to two spare bottlecaps. Cheers

    FYI: Brakes

well written. I think wheels off would have been easier, and made it easier to catch all of the fluid that is coming out druing the process (and save it from going all over the back of the wheels). Cheers
  15. right..... now I have to watch my steering wheel, my exhaust, ...and now my front valance when Gus is around. I am thinking that I will have to hire security guards to watch over my car at night at the Taupo Driver Training day, so no-one sneaks out in the middle of the night with their socket set!!!

    O2 Sensor and Cat

I am pretty sure in my E30 I only have the one cat. If that is all it costs, I will definately get it done. Should make it breathe a bit easier (well exhale anyway). It looks like it can be unbolted, removed and then just replaced with two bits of straight pipe welded in place. Looks as though it should be easy. Cheers

    O2 Sensor and Cat

Hope you didn't get a ticket. I have asked for a couple of quotes this morning to get my cat removed, and straight pipes put in instead. If the cost isn't too bad, I will get this removed before the driver training day. Cheers

Gus What were you pulled over for? The exhaust noise? Cheers

    O2 Sensor and Cat

Nothing has changed, I am just used to it. People keep telling me it has a good sound. Yeah, will get the cat cut out and straight pipe(s) welded in to replace it. Cheers

    A huge thanks

We used DOT4. It has the same boiling point at DOT5 when it is new (only when it gets older does the boiling point lower once it has absorbed moisture.)

    A huge thanks

No, i'm afraid to say, it was on a public road...in nice dry condition. No excuses really, but in saying that... it was fun. Cheers

    O2 Sensor and Cat

no, cat still in there, and still standard exhaust...just has a good throaty note to it, and screams at high revs. The cat is starting to stink a bit though, so it is closed to poked, so will get it removed reasonably soon. Cheers

    A huge thanks

A huge thanks to Andrew and Angus for assisting me in my brake bleed today. It seems to be going very well, and it was good to give the car a good caning road testing it afterwards. Thanks, and I owe you guys!!! Cheers
  25. Shelly Do you realise that even though you are paying more per litre for 96, you actually end up paying less per km. 96 burns much more efficiently, and you will get much better fuel milage and economy out of using 96 than 91, especially when the engine is designed to run on that octane. Cheers
