Last time I was in the US, I went for a wander through Weber BMW in Fresno, and was absolutely amazed how cheap they are there....but it is all relative. Compared to domestic cars in the US, they are still way more expensive. Cheers Grant

Yup - the part number is 29824-2 (for the post 1992 6 cylinder E36). A 40mm front and 15mm rear drop will be perfect.

Lidistick - I hope mine ends up with the same ride height as yours - it seems just right (however I have 17's as opposed to your 18's).

They are meant to be the blue spring. These will work fine, without any shock shortnening. It is a shock/spring package from Turner Motorsports, so is well proven. These are the US market H&R springs, which may explain the colour difference (the E30 ones from the US are a different colour from the European market ones as well). I had the same equivilant package in my E30 and was very happy with the result (now these are in Gus' Jungle beast) Cheers Grant

Yup - will definately post pics. Have been waiting for this last piece of the jigsaw before posting any pics. The car is come a long way in the time I have owned it (most of it mechanically), but it is nearly at a stage where I am pretty happy with it. Cheers Grant

well - that will be one effect (not the reason though), the main reason is to improve the handling of the 328. It should improve he handling without effecting ride quality too much (as the car really only used on the street, and also I am quite often carting my wife and baby around - so don't want them to be too uncomfortable). However it will lower the front by 1.5" and the rear by 1". Cheers Grant

Hi All Been out of my office for a couple of days, but when I got back in this morning, there was a large box sitting there. This is what it contains (sorry for the blurry pictures...damn cellphone camera is hopeless close up to anything):

Hi All Put this on Trade Me. $1 reserve. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=118852582 Upgraded to one that my ipod can plug into and I can control the music from the headunit (whilst having the ipod hidden away). This one goes well, with no faults. Cheers Grant

A bigger question here is - what kind of idiot would employ Gus....so they know what they are in for???

HB Jock You should enjoy Puka Park. Brook and I had our main wedding reception (we had two receptions) there after getting married on the beach last year. We also stayed there for a couple of nights straight after the wedding. It is very peaceful and quiet, and having the seperate bungalows is great. Cheers Grant

He lives (currently) on the same street as me at the Catholic Church - however I'm sure he will move out if he is a "free" man. I see him quite often walking around or riding his bicycle - he seems harmless to me (in fact I now give him a nice friendly smile when I walk past him), but it does worry me a bit that NZ is seen as a soft target to people unwelcome elsewhere around the world. Cheers Grant

Haha - looks like what a 10 year old would come up with, if let loose designing cars. No doubt it goes well, but not my cup of tea. Cheers Grant

I have both an 323i and a 328i. The 323i is a Jap import auto, and the 328i is a NZ new 5 speed. They are bpth good cars, the 323i is a good all round car - it is a significantly better car than a 325i (I drove a few, and they were terrible down low - but good with plenty of revs on). The 323i, in my opinion, is a hands down better car to drive than a 325i in every day traffic. The 328i is a great car too, much more fun that the 323i (gearbox goes a long way towards that). A 328i is worth every cent you spend as a premium over a 325i, for everyday driving (again in my opinion). Its better torque is worth every cent. I drove a couple of auto 320i's as well. They were very much in the same boat as an e30 320i, a bit on the gutless side. No doubt a manual one would be ok. For 10 - 12k you should get a very good auto 323i or 328i. Cheers Grant

Yay - it's the annual Honda bashing thread..... I was wondering when it was going to show up again in its newest guise. It starts to sound a lot like a broken record the 4th time around. Cheers Grant

All Season vs Summer tyres (Falken ZE-329 vs Dunlop Direzza DZ101)
Grant replied to Yuen's topic in Wheels & Tyres
You are semi-right. Sure the early E36 M3's had a stock fitment of 235/40/17 on the 7.5 inch rim. But the later ones (with the staggered set up) had a 225/45/17 on a 7.5 inch front, and a 245/40/17 on a 8.5 inch rear. I originally was going to use a 235/40/17 tyre on the RK's but after doing some research on the net, and also talking to two different tyre outlets, the recommendation was to run with the 225/45/17's. Sorry - before the car was on BMW BBS 15" RX's. I bought some 17" (8" wide) BBS RK's, and fitted the Adrenalin's to them (they came with some 225/ 45 17 Hankook Ventus' on it with reasonable tread - I drove on them once, and they were terrible.) The car before had 195 tyres on it, 2 Bridgestone Turanza's, 1 Nangkang and 1 Dunlop Lemans (these were on it when I bought the car). Therefore the imrovement is dramatic, however my main review of the Adrenalin's was not meant to be a comparison of what I did have on the 328i (although this will happen by default anyway), but more a general impression of the tyre in comparison to what I have had on other cars before (i.e my 2 E30's, and other current E36). All Season vs Summer tyres (Falken ZE-329 vs Dunlop Direzza DZ101)

Right, now I have had the chance to really test the Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin's (225/45/17) in all types of weather over the last 10 days. In that time I have been between Auckland and Hamilton 5 times, with a mixture of going via the backroads and straight down SH1. The Adrenalins are excellent, they have given me a new sense of confidence, in the 328's ability to stick to the road, especially in the wet. I have only seen the ASC light on twice in that time (prior to that it was a daily occurance). I am amazed (but this will be as much due to the increase is size over the old tyres) at how much less understeer I am getting than before. There are a few corners that I have really pushed the car through at a speed much higher than I thought I would be able to, and it just sticks and turns, without any fuss or problems. What they have shown is how tired the suspension is in the car, and what will next receive some treatment to tighten it up again. As far as road noise is concerned, they are not the quietest tyres I have ever had, but far from the noisiest either. I am very happy with the choice of them. Cheers Grant Cheers Grant -
Apart from the gills on the side, I don't mind it. I have seen a lot worse.
