  4. did you AA check it before you bought it?
  5. my suggestion is to underdrive the pulleys. increase the radius of the pulleys some the engine dosent have to work as hard driving them. simple lever physics. also use alloy pulleys, less weight to spin. i have read articlies about this, im not too sure on the thermo increase stresses on the engine.
  6. i got all of those. very handy to have. esp when you ring up the stealer and tell them what part number you need. gimp
  7. b&g superlows i have a 65mm clearance(lowest point), with LLV cert
  8. my springs were smaller and had a lower spring constant
  9. i was more after a measurement off the ground. Ride height isn't comparable to body roll for a start. All our cars roll quite a bit (as they are meant to). when i lowered my car. the body roll of mine was cut in half. it didnt feel like a bath tub gong around the corner at high speed. i found that when i lowered it. the sway bar loaded up more. so when i went round the corner it was already stiffer, than at normal height. compared to a 4x4. higher c.o.g off the ground = more roll on the same speed into the corner. i do realise that it depends on sway bar, springs, shocks and the c.o.g of the car. esp the driver and the constincy in testing. there would be to many varibles to make a statement like that. physics 101. lower the c.o.g the less change in angle blah blah blah.
  10. add two chicks in bikini's with a minimum size of D cups rule of thumb: mags tints indicators, smoked or clear (i pref smoked on black cars) dtm tips mtech steering wheel race seats SuperCharger not turbo 5spd conversion if auto LSD if havent already Leather seats (recaro) BMW mudflaps Bonnet vents (like mine) bodykit black taillights oh and big six engine swap!!!! ED: pink dice came with the Filly(mazda)
  11. im just wondering, what is the ride height of each of your guys cars? take a tape measurement of say the ground to the top of the front indicator. did the heightest car vs the lowest compare to body roll??? grant, with the strut brace fitted, on the open road; does yors feel more solid? i noticed with mine, it feels alot more stiffer with on the straight. esp when you first enter a corner, it feels, great :mosh: :thumb:
  12. maybe a whole computer replacement. like blair said. but go the whole hog. motec, link plus, Hawk??? i was reading the post on the BEN site and they said along the lines if you want crack the E30 engine code be my guest, but you will be betteroff doing something else.

  18. I noticed that a certain other E30 message board complimented us for being so good about addressing some of the more basic questions from new E30 owners. I think we all agree, so I thought I would just gather a few of the most popular questions and the answers in case any of the recent notoriety attracts any new members here to our site. Q: Should I use Platinum spark plugs in my E30? A: Yes. They make a dandy replacement for the cigarette lighter element. If you must, you also can use them in your engine but the only purpose they serve is to allow archeologists centuries from now to do carbon dating when they dig your E30 up out of a landfill. Q: Where can I track down other E30 owners in my area? A: Go to Home Depot and look for the crowd buying up all the diffuser lighting panels or Krylon barbeque spray paint. That will be them. Q: How can I get a drink holder to fit in my E30? A: You don’t need one. Just hook a flexible hose under the right side dash and wait for a rainy day. Q: Why is my trunk full of water all the time? A: It was BMW’s primitive effort at a self-leveling suspension system. Don’t forget to drain it at least every 3,000 miles. Q: What modifications would be most cost-effective for my E30? A: None. Most of us could never economically rationalize most of the upgrades and modifications we make on these cars. In fact, most of us are in prison for bouncing checks for parts and just use this board to stay in touch. Q: What is the best way to restore my faded paint on the hood? A: Paint over it. Q: I have heard there is a way to tuck the bumpers on my pre-88 E30. Exactly how do I do it? A: Parallel park blindfolded between two Ford Excursion SUVs. Q: Why are my windshield wipers so jerky? A: We try not to be so judgmental on this board. Q: The OBC in my 325is is dim and giving funny readings. What do I do? A: My old English poetry teacher was dim and gave funny readings, too. Anyway, consider pretending you have a 325 and just let it go. Q: My car seems to be overheating all of a sudden. What do I do? A: Take a rolled up wad of money and stick it into the radiator fan. If it starts to shred your money, you will get an idea of how it will feel when you have to replace your blown head gasket. Q: Can I paint my valve cover? A: Sure. You can also tattoo your butt but most people will not care to look at that either. Paul "Skip" Heagen
