    They were all manual.
Suspension is great (new bilsteins in the rear) - Motor is fine. Whole car is mint, but I just don't drive it like I do the paseo (Which I bought for $500 and don't give a crap about, so I drive it like a rental car at all times).
I'll drive it more come summer, but I did downgrade from an M3 so definitely missing a bit of power :P

They aren't all manual. They came as auto as well.

  2. Wow! The only post 2000's manual 3 series currently for sale in New Zealand . . . . Apart from the 7 other E90 manuals that are currently on TM:

"up for sale here is my 2006 BMW 320i with a 6 speed manual transmission, I'm pretty sure it was a factory manual but not quite sure. about 2 weeks ago it got 4 new brake pads and 4 new rotors, also got new rear shocks and brand new tyres on the rear at the same time the rims where taken off around 100km after the new tyres were put on so the front and rear have mean thread. about a month or 2 ago got a brand new clutch put into it, have all the paper work for these and where done at gainsburough auto services on dyers road in Christchurch. it has a custom exhaust set up on it, I had both mufflers removed and had a pipe and a big bore sports muffler put on, its loud and sounds very nice, comes with a silencer for it and also has both mufflers in the deal. it is on BMW M-Sport rims. its in very good condition inside and out and has been looked after very well by its previous owners and since I've owned it as well, its one of the only manual ones that can be found in New Zealand, and when I uploaded this listing to my best knowledge it was the only manual 3 series fir sale that was newer than 2000
its siting on advanti racing rims on the moment and has been only for about 2 weeks they are the black rims that can be seen in some of the photos however I'm not keen to sell these unless I get pretty much full price for them as they are brand new and in perfect condition, I paid 2700 for them so I would be willing to take around 2500 for them, and then you will also get the M-Sport rims in the package not definite on if ill sell them tho depends on the price your offering and my next car
it has a fusion dual 12inch sub in the back and is mean, this is the first car its been in and cost me 600 to buy and was professionally installed for around 150 dollars I might take this out and put it into my next car unless I could get around 400 for it"

Slight contradiction in that Graham, the dealers and the principals agree what they stock  (not 'dealers take what they get')   and you get to suck it up if you don't like what they want to sell.

One dealer was at least honest when I was talking with him a month ago about a manual 335i   - His comment why we the  don't see them ( or DCT's)  here as Jap imports is: "because the Irish and brits will pay more for them and our buyers get out bid ( read won't step up) " .  So we get the poverty pack ones with crap seats and the slush matic box .

No such thing as:  "free market" "consumer choice" or "customer is king"

Fewer models, fewer parts fewer tools and dumber mechanics all  head in one direction  back to the dark ages when you took what the dealer offered. Some manufacturers are heading down this road as well as the Bean counters dominate decision making.

Any one remember the 1950's & 60's  Pay your money up front in full  then stand in a queue for 18 months and take the car that comes with your name on it.

Welcome to the new world order where the customer is in for a mugging

Your man is talking rubbish.  Twice a week I look at a Japanese auction website, in the last 2 years I have not seen a manual 335i. The only modern (2005+) RHD manual BMW's that pop up are 320's and 130's. These cars make there way to NZ Shores.

Hey, surely that's a trick question.

Everyone around this parish knows that anything powered by the N42 4 cyl Valvetronic motor is to be avoided like syphilis.:o   Whether it's auto or manual, considerations of the N42 in a 1 or 3 series are largely academic!

Should we engage in considerations of which transmission is best in the context of a car featuring a motive unit likely to consign it to the workshop while quietly emptying one's wallet?

    ^_^

/rant.  nothing to see here, move along. B)

    Wasn't the N42 in E46's?

    N46B20 are in E90's. 115Kw.

  6. I'd say the complete opposite lol ... they are completely rubbish track seats. I used to take mine out and put in a real proper Recaro SPG when I head to the track as you always tend to fly out of the stock seats around corners.

The problem with the stock seats in my opinion are actually the cushions .. they are far too thick and makes you basically sit 'outside' of the seats. I've removed mine and put in some standard recaro bucket cushions so you end up sitting actually 'inside' the bucket seats (saves on wear and tear also as these cushions are over $2000 believe it or not!!) .. much much better and lot more comfortable and also seems to give much better lateral support also.

Either way ... be interesting to see what this sells or sold for!

    Hey Tom, it didn't sell.

  7. I had a 5 speed Cooper in England, was pretty fun. I've not driven the S though, wondered what they are like.

Do they have LSD? What's the traction like?

You have the best colour IMO.

    Thanks.

No LSD in mine, it was an option I think, but standard in a John Coppers Works.

  8. A few weeks ago I purchased this Cooper S:

Im really enjoying ripping round in a small car again.

I believe it could have been a demo from new (had the plate M1NIS for the first month or so)

Its a pretty good spec, chilli pack, sunroof, xenons and different wheels from the Mini catalogue. Also at some point someone fitted a Remus exhaust and a Pipercross intake:

When I picked up the exhaust it looked like this:
