saw a lady driving a mint estoril blue e46 330ci coupe clubsport (the weird spoiler) driving on ellerslie highway yesterday plate BMW331. I wanted to honk at her to ask her if she wants to sell it i was worried i might scare her so left her alone.. haha.. looked awesome
just carjammed it.. 2002.. manual! but nearly 232ks!! wow!!
That used to be a Napier car, one owner (still the same owner I believe), a woman in her 60's? Its not manual its SMG.

Btw..... I took your advice and got a base Mtech from Japan. Sunroof perfect. Not a dent... A little paint fade, original.... no tweeks, 1 lady owner who opted out of the Sports seats for the comfort line because of age. Full service history with BM, Japan sunroof perfect, no dash split, etc. etc.

"A little paint fade, original"
Err, its been repainted. The factory colour is black.
Seems odd that a one lady owner decides that she wants a colour change.
Also, Mtechs arent just cosmetic, there is the LSD and the suspension.

Being worked on now - I'm dealing with the owner and he's doing a lot of running around for me so I'm being patient. I should know in a week or so.
Sweet. Can you keep us up to date?
How much and what colour were you thinking of getting?
-
I'm looking at options myself... dealing with this guy at the moment, prices are sharp.
Whats shipping like?

Looked at them, supposed to be Better than RE 002, didn't like the 002's decided that the 003's were not much different ,same lightweight case , just different tread to improve directional stability and turn in.
Went to Michelin PS3 much better all round tyres that trade a little bit of extreme precision when pushed really quickly.
Turn in is more immediate, more consistent and I have dialled out a degree of negative at both ends because I don't need it any more. Now running 0.6 neg front and 1.2 neg on the rear which is what I had with RE 050 which is a much better tyres than the 002
The load rating has gone up on the 225/45/17.

do you work for some sort of dealership or mechanic?
Me? Or did you mean to quote WYZEUP?
I just read the top of the page of Carjam report for the number plate:
"Basic Report created 4 years ago. If you want to see the latest information available on this vehicle you must purchase a report."
-
Hold on, the interior isn't in the same color, thou it does say photo may not be of this vehicle
At least its still holding up all these years, 251km wow
How I'd love to track it down to its current owner and see if I can somehow reunite with it
The car doesnt have a WOF or a REG at the mo, and the REG isnt on hold.
Come the 24 November the car will be deregistered. More than likely it sitting on someones backyard in need or repair.

Last WOF inspection in 2010..Doesn't look hopeful.
That carjam report is 4 years old. Thats why it doesnt have later WOF's.

If you want something rare, this didnt sell in Japan so you might be able to pick it up next week?
Its a Alpina B2 2.5 (1 or 74?) but you have to live with LHD - but you would have if you got an E30 M3:
The highest bid this week was 670,000 yen.
-
Between $10 000 to $20 000 I guess
You will be out of luck with any S14 (M3 engine) powered cars.
If I were you Id stick to NZ so you can see what you are purchasing. Id look for either a E30 M325i or an E36 M3.
I dont know what the South African models are worth.

Hi Guys, thanks for the feedback. But how do I work a budget if I cannot find a supplier and a cost for import, etc. etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well what is your budget for a car landed on the road in New Zealand?
-
Is it just me or have a good number of E30 325i Motorsports been written off in the last 12 months?
-
Spotted this E30 318is in Napier town yesterday:
-
You would think it was based on VIN numbers, but no . . .
A mate and myself have Audi RS2's, numerically the cars followed each other down the production line (1 VIN number difference), they are exactly the same spec apart from the colour.
My car is registered as an Audi RS2 Avant, his is registered as a Audi Avant RS2. My car is cheaper to register because its in Band 2 while his RS2 is more expensive because its been placed in Band 1.
I enquired about this and it is based way the cars name has been registered! This seems crazy. Surely they can have a system that works based on VIN's instead of what the some office lady wrote on the registration form.

Could be a good project for someone?

And there were TWO pre-production units brought in, same colour, very similar specs. Possibly been confused as one car? Although one of those did end up in the drain...
One of the preproduction cars that ended up in NZ was the PP South African car.

Spotted this E30 320 Touring in town (Napier) on Saturday night:

Looks like it was a nice car, and has real BBS RS's on it:

Just remember if you purchase the write-off and rebuild it has a dirty history. Its a pretty public car being on this forum so it wont be forgotten. Also you will have to be honest about it being write-off when going to sell it in the future. Oh, and a dealer wont normally touch a rebuilt write-off.

Original (worn) VW Golf GTI Mk1 gear knob:

In regards to the supermarket dents get the paintless dent removal guy to take them out. Cheap and no need to bog or repaint.
-
oh, a quick google says it might look like this?
In that case, pass. Maybe an oil filter wrench or strap?
That is correct. Its a plastic housing that needs to be opened. There is a proper tool that can be purchased which I am after.
-
As the title say, where can I purchase the tool that undoes an E36 (M44) Oil filter?
Also, what should I expect to pay?

Ive ordered some alcantara from these guys via my Youshop. My plan is to TRY and recover a spare steering wheel and gearknob. Could be an interesting and challenging project.
