um was quite expensive for me... 1.5k for engine + 1k for labour ,but it is still not fixed
when the engine was tested after putting it in, the replacement engine turned out to have a cracked head.
luckily the engine had a warrenty, so now the shop (where i brought the engine from) is replacing the engine and paying for the labour to be put it in
oh i c haha. was thinking of changing my 320i to a 2.5l but dnt have the money for that yet obviously lol

now been done
how much it cost you to get it done?
-
oh how do u get to that bulb i think I have the same problem atm. I've tried fitting my hands down to feel for something but cudn't? did u have to remove the whole headlight? and what type of bulb does it take?
-
just a bump
-
Lowered for a quick sale. $5600. The only problem is the interior. My original plans was to get the Interior fixed and manual conversion except no money at the moment and my dad wants to get a suv so im putting some money into that.
Im sure that if it was tidied up it could probably sell for a bit more but I don't have money to do it.
Cowell panel replaced. Indicators replaced. Serviced with new sparkplugs.

Cool so I think i'll have a look at a few hondas.
So primeras are a no go? no guts? what about Corolla's or coronas?
-
Thanks Charles. Yea i quite like audi a4's was thinking of getting oen earlier but nothing was on trademe that fitted my requirements at the time. Mite just keep the bmw for a while and just keep an eye out on trademe and turners for a low km audi.
Don't really like pulsars too much. And hondas seem alright but everyone gives em stick.

Have a look on TradeMe, it's not that hard.
i've had a look at trademe but just want some others opinions on some reliable cars people use. Currently use my 320i coupe but gets a bit crammed when have a few people and gets a bit heavy and slow haha

Looking for a car which will be cheap to run but has a bit of power in the over taking lanes?
Been looking at galants corollas, primeras. what do u guys reckon? oh and looking at sedans only. price range up to 8k

Finally got a reply out of them
the 961 & 962 are $41.56 +gst each
the 963 & 964 are 39.74 +gst each
Dont know where the quote for 200+ from jerry clayton came from
Bringing this old topic back up. Jerry Clayton quoted me $350 for the parts... Team McMilian appears to be way cheaper

Oh okay i'll have a look in the morning. Umm the head unit came with the car when I bought it no real biggys if i can't really do anything about that as I can just use my ipod or cd's. Thanks for the help

Back window with amp in L/H "C" pillar. Has the radio been changed? If so - the aerial amp wire been connected?
Oh okay thanks. yea it has been changed. Normal standard antenna wire in the back of the head unit. not sure what colour the power wire(if any) but all seem to be connected.
-
I have a 1994 320i coupe but not sure where the aerial is located? Just wanted to check it as I am getting some interupted radio signals.

I'd say aux is the best. when using my ipod using the ipod controller on my headdeck i find it kidna slow to respond to and u need a decent head unit to even navigate through all ur playlist, folders etc. I like aux because u have the ability to just quickly using the ipod to pick songs faster (when u have pulled over of course:P).

Was pondering whether i should do a manual conversion on a my 320i? The thing is I want a manual again but im not sure if its worth doing? seen some kids on trademe
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-250228745.htm

the cars on an island so taking it to an auto electrician is not really an auto so its not much of a biggy if it doesn't go anymore. i assume its an aftermarket alarm but its a brand i've never really heard of called unilarm? read on the internet that if i was able to disconnect the relay that it mite work? haven't had a chance to inspect it myself. Thanks tho
-
I know this isn't for a bmw but its for my dads old jeep he has at our bach. The alarm isn't responding to the remote anymore. Changed the battery in the remote but no help so i think our only choice nw is to cut the alarm and try and re-wire it. Its an Izuzu Big Horn like 1987. Is there any trick to cutting and reattaching the old wires? is it a complicated process looked on the internet and to me it seems complicated or does it just take a lot of time?
or is it as simple as disconnecting the alarm brain?

I can see why it seems expensive when you look at the value of your car vs. the cost of repairs, unfortunately this is a con of owning an older imported BMW.
Actually, looking at your other topics maybe you should sell it and buy a Toyota Corolla.

Have you got windscreen insurance?
fair enuf yea its just that my car is quite old just thought that when i bought it, it would only be a few things that needed work on. After thinking about it as well i would say it actually is a fair price for what is involved. May actually go for it except not the front windscreen as that can be done later when i needs to be replaced. He just suggested that I get the rubber changed to the J shape i think otherwise he said it was okay if i left it.
-
I think its very reasonable considering. The rear quarter window seals are an absolute bitch and easily cocked up
What about the price for the kits for the rear quarter windows? are those worth it?
-
This is to replace the rubber seals on my quarter windows and front windscreen. Replace the front indicators and re align them, and to get a new front panel thing that stops leaves getting between the bonnet and windscreen(that plastic thing).

anyone know if euro italian supplies any of the parts required?
