Front half of driveshaft?
-
Thanks for that. Now to find time to go up and plunder all the bits I need
-
Looking for a e30 med case diff not worried about ration or condition....just need casing's and output shafts to convert another diff.
-
Have sent you a pm. thanks dave
-
yeah the sump sits quite far forward but there is no room to move it back with the steering rack and the rear coolant hoses. pics are a little misleading. these mounts have been made so dont require having to space the subframe down and mess with the factory suspension alignment

buy a z3 gear lever from ray at hellbm. will give you a short shift and your gearknob will be nice and firm. may as well replace any bushes you can while your in there

Got a bit of time in the shed yesterday and crossed a few things off the list..... Upgraded calipers, new discs, pads, shoes, braided lines all installed. Thanks to kerry at mosens for selling me a set of mounts and will for stopping by kerrys with his vehicle so i could have a look over it and get some ideas on how it all goes together and works. So now the beast is in the hole time to start mocking up all the bits like exhaust manifolds and coolant pipes. Also after talking to will im going to go down the path of a removable front radiator support panel to make this whole process much easier. Its also allowed me to get more of an idea of the final fitment of the wheels and tyres which now sits where i am happy with it. That firewall fitment :/ not a lot of room left, might have to do a little panel beating to give me some space........

Also need a m60 power steering pump

Bump. Have found afm and ecu.

this is what i had in mind of running instead http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1025804420 otherwise i will just source a oil filter housing
-
yeah the motor i have doesnt have the oil filter housing but i have some fittings with AN fittings brazed onto them which go into the block and trying to decide wether to run with that setup and use and aftermarket system or obtain and use the factory system
-
Hi guys, through the build of my M60 E30 im looking to possibly use a oil filter relocation kit (screw on filter) with cooler instead of using the factory oil filter housing on the motor to free up room in the engine bay and give easier access to the radiator and clean it up. With all the reading i have been doing all the american's seem to say steer clear as they have problems with them blowing hoses etc.... is this just because they're using cheap stuff or is there possibly another reason why this would be happening? Has anyone used a remote oil filter setup on an M60 before? cheers guys

X5 manifolds are the easiest to use as they're a lot easier to modify but can use others, do you know where some are?
-
Rocker cover should be. The other bits I'm not too sure of.....
-
As title states after a m60b40 or 30 engine loom. 404 ecu. M60b40 afm Rh m60 rocker cover Thanks

So it's been an interesting couple of months bits and pieces going backwards and forwards. Little work has happened on the poor e30 lately but now it's time to start getting stuck in. After a nice engine and gearbox came up for a good price it was my original choice of power plant. So fresh into the new year I purchased a getrag 420g and m60b30. After hours and hours researching clutches finally speaking to Darren at nzad have nailed down a single mass flywheel and clutch he has produced. Considering sticking with the b30 and humming and not really being satisfied a few quick phones calls and I now have the big brother. A bit of wheeling and dealing and I'm back to square one. Time to get the welding gear out and make some progress. A pelican parts order and get the motor cleaned up and off to see Kerry for some knowledge and parts

As title states have a M60B30 for sale with 140,000kms on the clock. motor is in very good condition no leaks etc....is a bare block only as have used ancilaries from the engine already. can pallet up and send. $400. will upload pics tonight

Spoke to Darren on the phone yesterday, good guy and happy to work with me. He's digging the kit out as he's been quite busy so we can do some measurements etc so I will let you all know how I get on

Have you got a picture of the rear seats? and also are the wilwood pedals for sale? do you have the lower spoiler that attached to the valance?
-
lots and lots of goodies in there http://www.manheim.co.nz/damaged-vehicles/4665572/1989-bmw-325i-sedan?referringPage=SearchResults

Very good idea, thanks. But if i was to build a new unit i would most probably use a e39 unit even tho cylinder units seem easier to come by. which way did you end up going when you performed your swap?
-
so all the engineer will need is the height of the dual mass flywheel, and the bolt and dowl patterns? this is what i was refering too http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/49215-1993-530i-v8-5-speed-manual-m60b40-swap/page-2
