  1. Very good idea, thanks. But if i was to build a new unit i would most probably use a e39 unit even tho cylinder units seem easier to come by. which way did you end up going when you performed your swap?
  2. so all the engineer will need is the height of the dual mass flywheel, and the bolt and dowl patterns? this is what i was refering too http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/49215-1993-530i-v8-5-speed-manual-m60b40-swap/page-2
  3. Motors here...need it off the stand so i can get to work on the new setup
  4. That would be awesome thanks. the motor i have has a auto flex plate on it already.....i think because ive got the m60 i will work with that. or could do as kiwi328i did in his m60 conversion have the flywheel built to slip over the flex plate and bolt down making it interchangable, but with the correct height????
  5. Awesome thanks thorburn. The only problem is I don't have a factory flywheel to give them measurements from
  6. Did anything more come of this clutch kit or was it all put in the too hard basket, as i am on the hunt for an affordable v8 clutch kit at the moment

Thanks, yeah i need to find some time to go over and see him
  13. Hahaha thats a good little project, and a good way to understand the internal workings of a motor. Ive just aquired a B30 and if im missing a few little bits would you be interested in selling a few bits? like the chipped ecu
  14. If theyre a turqouise coloured spring they are most probably dobi springs. spring pads wont effect anything except grip the springs and stop them from spinning. otherwise you can take your springs out and have them compressed that little bit more would be your easiest options

  17. Hey what did you end up doing with the b30? Saved your swap as I'm going down this path and it's awesome how you worked around the clutch kit

Hey if I can find a well priced m62 i may go that way, but from the info I've read seems the m60 has been opened up in the inlet department a bit more Didn't you have an m62 sitting around polley?

For the same power figure? M60 breathes better than the m62 and more solid chain system. Only be worth doing if going to a tu motor and I don't want to head down that path

So I'm on the look out for a reasonably priced m60b40 if anyone knows of one and a 404. Don't need accessories. Otherwise I'm on the hunt for a b30 sump if anyone has one laying around Thanks

  22. at that price im not suprised, such gorgeous wheels!!!
  23. recaro rails are easiest to buy with the sliders from NZKW, Z3 shifter contact HellBM they do a good deal for Bimmersport members, instead of worrying about the m20 should just buy my M50 conversion its all ready to go!
  24. They do not have holes for abs sensors sorry
