  1. Perhaps he wasn't breath tested immediately after? Probably some bullshit technicality. Like the lawyer that got off because the cop tested him on private property.
  2. Ah I get ya. That didn't occur to me. As I say, the only real issue I have is with that crack. The grove around there is still in the same place but where the crack is on the side it has spread. Its kinda hard to explain so I'll through up some pictures tomorrow.
  3. One is mostly flat with a gap of maybe 1/10mm if laid flat on a table. The other is similar except for a slight crack on one of the mounting holes on the three front ones. Basically it has split enough that the cover rocks slightly on a flat surface. Again its not more than maybe 1-2mm out. The crack itself does not leak oil as it is on the outer edge. Just wanting a completely flat surface to eliminate the possibility of future leaks.
  4. Also, Not technically warped. Just wanting fresh, flat, pc free surfaces.
  5. Why? Serious question. Have read it being done multiple times by users on other forums.
  6. Just had my covers powder coated and wanting to get the mounting faces planed. Where would I take them? Do I need to go to an engine re-builders? I wouldn't think it was a major job and would take minimal time/effort. Could perhaps be done on a large belt sander? If there's anyone in Hamilton that can help me out here there's a box of Heineken with your name on it. Alternatively if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.
  7. Did you have any trouble with your plates? Where did you get them from?
  8. A guy I know tried signing up yesterday and it wouldn't let him also. Unsure what error message he got but would assume it was the same.
  9. Owner is not sure what these are from. Would pay to do your own research as to weather they will fit. If you are local then text and ask for a trial fitting.
  10. Yeah the sale for $360 went through as the buyer didn't realize they had so much poke. Probably a good thing as that is a absolutely retarded price!
  11. Yeah I thought so too. He had sold them via a trademe auction this week but the guy didnt want them when he tried them on. Offset too aggressive.
  12. Listing these on behalf as he couldn't make his own account for some reason. For the fastest response it would pay to contact him directly on his cell.
  13. Can anyone recommend somewhere to do a quick resurfacing on the mounting face of my rocker covers?
  14. Yeah. Its a bit gutting as I was hoping to have it done by the end of the weekend. Most of the parts were able to be shipped straight away but the pulley is about a week before they can send it. All up she's out of action for the better part of a couple of weeks. Was going to get the 22 grommets on my last order but thought I'd use the originals. Too bad they were so brittle and crumpled to bits when I tapped them out. $5 each when I rung Coombes Johnston! Oh well. Took the covers to get blasted today and will get them powder'd this week sometime as well as refaced so they are nice and flat. On of them seems to be quite warped/uneven.
  15. Was going to do the pips but leave the valley pan as there wasn't any visible leakage.
  16. sh*t just got serious. Water pump fix has turned into a nightmare. Had trouble getting the fan pulley off and ended up shattering the lip. Finaly got the water pump off now and the end of the 32mm water pipe is rusted to buggery and will need replacing. On Pelican now ordering up on parts. Any recomendations on what else i should get while im there? Got the intake manifold gaskets, extra o-rings and a brand new pulley coming.
  17. Cheers for the offers guys. Really appreciate it. Have given Thorburn a pm since he is a local.
  18. Cheers, will keep that in mind. Would definitely replace if something happened.
  19. Would rather use one if possible to avoid over/under tightening.
  20. Wanting to do my waterpump and rocker gaskets this week and in need of a torque wrench. Does anyone happen to have one in or around Hamilton that I would be able to loan for a couple of days. Happy to pickup/drop off and pay in the form of alcoholic beverages.
  21. Replaced the rear boot shock with brand new items. No longer have to jam a piece of wood in there every time I want to get the groceries in.
  22. Got a wheel alignment. Had -3.1 degree of camber on the rear left and some real goofy toe. Car now sits nice and flat. She actually sat visibly on the piss when I bought her. Thought one of the rear springs was sagging.

    Clear out

Dont suppose you could give me the measurements on the clock? Would like to know if I could retrofit in into the spot where the DSP sits on an E38.
