  1. http://store.uucmotorwerks.com/ If you'd like something, I can add to my purchase to save on shipping?
  2. Hi, I am ordering some parts from the states, there is a special deal on right now .. 20% discount all round. and also they have free ceramic brake pads with any disc order. However the american spec m3s have the same diameter rotor, however they never got the floating rotor. Question: Will non-floating rotors fit into the euro spec m3s which are running floating rotors? car is currently running floating rotors. Cheers
  3. With that plate I'd be pretty sure it was a pilot owner haha
  4. Nah mate no sarcasm there buddy I really appreciate your words. I love the contours! My spare was a full sized contour so I wanted to put it back how it was. Everything else is sweet. I really just want to recondition the engine and the suspension but I think being that the car has full service history thru local BMW dealerships that the suspension bushings are in good order esp when I had it up on a hoist .. brand new rear shocks and brakes plus nothing worn. Might want to drop it a few inches but don't want to compromise the standard handling that BMW spent so much time on. .. I do want some upgraded lighting and internal stereo upgrades without affecting the standard look too.. Also want a slightly note sporty clutch. Standard euro clutches are spongy at best but it might just be that I'm used to the solid centre unsprung full face Carbon kevlar clutch I've been daily driving for the past few months... I suppose I will give it more time to settle into the non attraction receiving vehicle as opposed to the road legal caged race car I was dailying before haha
  5. 1. Too late 2. Too late I like the stock contours. 3. Maybe. Rather have induction noise. 4. Yes of course.
  6. The moments when I exceed the speed limit are as follows when you are following directly behind a driver who speeds up to 110kmh on straights and yet slows to 80kmh every blind corner or any area where you can't overtake. when you are behind several cars who will not take the chance to overtake when they are capable of doing so, but do not because they don't have the power or acceleration or balls. Therefore to pass them all, you need a much longer clear passing straight to pass several cars. usually only open road driving. not pulling 100+kmh on city roads.
  7. my VANOS is ticking a bit ... i'll take this to PM yeah? check your messages dave pls
  8. haha cheers dave, thanks for the input! will take it into consideration. right now, just looking at angel eyes and maybe HIDs. tbh, maybe if I give it a while I will accept that the e36 m3 will always be understated. meanwhile I will spend any funds on maintenance .. even preventative maintenance ..
  9. right. so wankyness assessment needed. 0-10 scale. 10 being legit, 0 being absolutely no. opinions? heheh
  10. had a look, not too bad. did any of the motorsport series come with the m badge on the front grille? I thought I might go to blacked out kidneys and an m badge in the grille?
  11. Just thought if anyone had anymore suggestions. Thanks for all the replies so far .. The m3 GtR is a bit much! Haha
  12. does anyone have any ideas about how to improve the aggressiveness of a sedan evo without being wanky?
  13. The way laser detection works is by firing many pulses of laser at 905nm wavelength and timing the return reflection of the beam. Usually they aim for the plates to get a good return. Since they fire so many laser bursts, scatter from the hits which reflect in different directions (not back to the police laser gun) this allows laser detectors to catch the signals from further away. Most police are trained to aim at the plates, and also headlamps. A simple way to decrease your chances of being pinged is to angle your plate mount so that it would reflect the signal up away from the receiver. You can test this using a laser pointer on your plate. Most plates are coated with a special reflective covering which helps the laser to bounce nicely.. there are specific coatings you can apply to absorb 905nm wavelength beams but they are illegal if found to be used. Doppler is mostly related to radar guns sorry for the slight misinformation. In theory Doppler refers to the change in wavelength due to the movement of the object. And thus the speed is calculated by the change in frequency of the return signal. Laser or LiDAR works in a similar way but not exactly Doppler. Over 1000bursts are fired per second and the laser calculates time of travel between the laser fired and laser returned to give a speed calculation. The wavelength is not altered but the timing of the send and receive signals are used and averaged over the thousands of bursts to calculate your speed. Hope this makes sense!!
  14. Maybe next time you are out at night in your car facing a wall, you could take a quick photo? Haha thanks
  15. haha, massive pumped guards? maybe a little further than I want to go. maybe a front grille m badge .. an aftermarket muffler and intake, and then just maintenance mods while keeping the body panels perfectly waxed and maybe put the wheels through a recondition to take out all the scuffs and return to pristine condition .. maybe hardwire a radard detector in .. work with the factory headunit/cd changer to enable bluetooth control .. otherwise i'd love to keep it standard. check all suspension bushings and replace as necessary to new. shocks upgraded to koni or similar, brake discs to vented and drilled. VANOS maintenance ..
  16. some radar detectors have the ability to pick up laser .. ? if you've ever operated a laser speed detector, it can take a few tries to get a decent return reflection unless aimed directly perfect the first time at a proper facet to reflect the laser output in the correct direction to gain an accurate dopler shift readout.
  17. Thanks for the images! How is the light dispersion? A few results online just showed what it looked like when aimed at a wall in close range to see if the factory lens's could handle the HIDs
  18. Yeah might do that. I have some eBay searching to do but all the US m3s have plastic fantastic headlights for their e36s!
  19. I have searched around for replacement lenses to accommodate the HID conversion with no luck. Would like to do it properly if at all ..
  20. Did you have any problems with light glare and dispersion? If I'm going to go HID then I want to do it legit and safely
  21. mostly for e39s.. not too many e36 threads. I might go for the upgraded blue H1 bulbs to begin with and see how those go.
