  1. New car purchased. Will need this gone soon, $8250. Car is on trade me. Really nice car which has been well looked after, don't want to let it go but new car will eat up my $$$ and I need a cheap daily I can leave in Wilson's demolition derby pits.. I mean "car parks" all day.
  2. $9000ONO Airbag recall done by BMW CHCH when I purchased it. Pioneer headunit. Auto/tiptronic. Car is cleaned and waxed regularly. Non smoker.
  3. Hey all, Time to sell my 330ci $8250 Hesitant sale Owned for over 2 years, sadly its time for something different and this will need to go. Brand new 12 month WOF, flew through Brand new 12 month rego Just had oil and filter change with Castrol edge 5w 30 and genuine BMW filter Fresh alignment and balance 115,000kms 230hp Vehicle has a Japanese ARQRAY exhaust (catback I believe), not much louder than standard but sounds great, nice and quiet around town. Full M Sport extras - Wheels, seats, suspension, body kit, M trims, etc Professional 35% window tint from FM7 K&N filter in factory box Pioneer headunit with aux/usb, nice speaker set up, assume factory. Car is tidy for its age, few minor car park marks on bumpers when up close and small wear on drivers seat bolster, otherwise great.
  4. Was recommended to go see the guys at Eurorec as they specialise in BMWs and are a Euro Nation club supporter, and I have bought parts for my old E36 from them previously. Had it scanned, was the ASC pump needing replacement. Sourced a used part from them and had it fitted. Sounds as though they cost an arm a leg at the dealer, the wheel speed sensors alone were quoted at about $260 each for genuine BMW from Jeff Gray. So all dealt with for now, would not have been wise just throw sensors at it (even cheap ebay ones), cheers for the replies guys.
  5. Hey team, have had a search around here and google in general but as is often the case theres different opinions everywhere and often the threads arent updated when the issue is resolved. My 01 330ci started showing the ABS and ASC lights yesterday (no handbrake light). I believe this generally indicates a front wheel speed sensor fault? I understand that the issue is sometimes the ABS module having issues due to the heat in the engine bay. Wondering if there are any recommendations on where to pick up speed sensors at a reasonable price so I can hope that resolves the issue (anyone against ebay ones from experience).. and if this doesnt solve the issue, any recommendations of places to go in CHCH who can diagnose it properly. Jeff Gray obviously, but perhaps there are alternatives? Does anyone have experience of replacing the sensors actually resolving the issue? Appreciate any insight, Cheers
  6. Good looking car, good to see you got the price down anyway.
  7. My 330ci fulfills most of my needs pretty well. Would have preferred a manual in the weekends but an auto makes commuting nicer and sport mode does well to give you power when you want it most of the time. The 330 is not exactly a fast car but it has some power and feels quick and responsive in sport mode, and handles fantastically. The m sport suspension is a bit bumpy on Christchurch roads but a dream on open road and I expect would ride a lot nicer in places which don't have patched bumpy roads like chch currently does. There seems to be a few around within your budget, mine was $9k from a dealer mid last year, just over 100ks, fairly well looked after conaidering age so there's some good ones around in that price range. I was looking at 325s originally and the 330 was definately more powerful and in the lighter 3 series body it should feel like a nice power upgrade over your 525.
  8. Glad to hear it worked out. I very nearly had a similar situation on Saturday. Turning right at a T intersection on a quiet street a lady had just pulled over to the left of where I was turning into, as I pulled out seeing she had stopped she then pulled at again into my path. There was also a car coming the other way but I managed to just squeeze through the gap as she realised I was there, must have been bloody close. I was in a tough position for her to see but no indicating or anything from her. I would have been fairly annoyed as I was in my own car, but no harm done, she got a shock and I needed a new pair of undies haha.
  9. Thanks, I'll check battery out after work.
  10. I've dug through couple of forums and found a few people with cluster issues and it seems a reset, and/or removing and putting back the 10, 34, 43 fuses (While key is on position 1) seems to solve most of them. If someone has had mine apart though and messed with it, it may be an issue of poor connections. Hopefully the issue doesn't arise again. I've just remembered that when I first got the car back, the radio presets were all cleared, do they remove the battery to change over the airbag? That must have had some effect.
  11. Hi all, So today my vehicle (E46 330ci) has been at Jeff Gray in CHCH having it's airbag replaced as part of the recall. Thought I'd get it done as they mentioned when I was in the other day to buy a lock nut key. So all is well, come back to pick up my car and now the gauges etc all don't work. So I quickly pop back in assuming they remove a fuse to put in the airbag, and they are puzzled. They agree to look at it despite telling me there's no way it was them. After an hour they come out with gauge cluster and tell me this is what communicates with the car and show me some areas where some screws have been removed in the past and basically it's not their fault, unit must be faulty and it's just unusual timing. Now.. that could be entirely possible, these things happen, they've been fairly good with me despite my 25year old self sticking out like a sore thumb in here, and the fact I'm not paying for their time. So I get them to put it back in so I can at least drive it home to figure out WTH is going on and then they come back and say it's fixed itself.. all is working fine now. Get in the car, sure enough, all is well. My worst nightmare of something going wrong and being told it's a coincidence came true. Hopefully it's fine moving forward. I've had the car 9 months, its only done 100ks, it's clearly been looked after. Weird.
  12. Nice find! I may see you around CHCH, red certainly stands out from the pack.
  13. Thanks for the tips Ahmed. I'll have a chat with them on Friday when I take it in for the airbag - perhaps they'll be willing to have a quick look. The new tyres are certainly sitting a lot more vertical at the moment but they are fresh off the rack.
